Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I haven't looked at the stats, but I'd rekon he'd be up there with the most kicked for the year.

I agree, I'd definitely stick with him up forward for forward pressure alone. He needs time to develop.

I know Garlett has struggled, but I'd persist with him as well. Just needs time and confidence

In form and with improved feeds coming in, both would be awesome and reinforced with a returning opportunist in Hannan.

Speaks like a true born leader.

He is light years ahead of Jack Viney who is simply cringeworthy to the max.

Unfortunately agree.

Poor old Jack sounds and looks like he’s been chasing too many parked cars.

There was a clear change in the game plan. We played a sweeper out the back and -1 in the forward press. It worked for us on multiple occasions and is a far safer way to play when team form is variable. We are still sending too many into the contest and not having anyone at the spread or minding opposition players ready to spread.

What is going on with TMac? Was such a reliable mark last year but is struggling big time ATM. Can't seem to get himself into it or do anything right when he is the target. It is going to make . big difference for us when he finally starts firing again.

Stats don't count the 2 contests he should've won but didn't even make the contest in the last quarter, resulting in 2 of the goals that Hawthorn kicked to almost pinch it

Am away interstate so watching on tv and Fox Footy showed it in replay analysis

I don't want to snipe either,  but Omac almost lost us the game

He was generally pathetic.

There are times where i simply turn off the Melbourne Podcast because of him as co host (good lord...).

Struggles to put a sentence together and is very uninspiring.

Jake Lever is light years ahead and if he gets some good solid consistency in his football i would love to see him captain one day instrad of Viney.

Our players are attempting to spread but do so too far in - well inside handball distances - hence the congestion. The radius on both sides/areas should be another 4-7 metres out and outriggers should always be in motion, never static. It must be a habit.

And the umpires, probably 4 clear holding balls not paid against Hawthorn and a couple of iffy ones. All when we had momentum too.

It was deliberate; a clear-cut rule turned into an 'interpretation' time and again to favour the Squawks. It proved repetitive. In close, on tackles, the Squawks were also allowed to throw the ball, in poor attempts the duplicate the speeds of Clarrie's handball.

Do yourselves a favour and watch Clarkson’s post match press conference. Completely pragmatic compared to Goodwins rolling of a turd through some glitter.

Probably the best I’ve listened to.

And that, in a nutshell, is why he will help win us a flag. So all you Petracca doubters, [censored] off

Petracca’s set shot on goal highlighted  for me where’s he at, an average player at the moment.

I can sort of cop the Harmes 50s, but only if the one for kicking the ball away is paid the other way. And also not long after that a Hawthorn player gave the ball back to clearly the wrong player after a free to slow it down, which was being paid consistently a year or two back.

Seems like they have loosened up on a lot of those rules, which makes the Harmes 50s harder to take.

This 100%. Total inconsistency.

I said Frost had a great last 15 mins but he was pretty ordinary up until then. When may and lever are back, on form this year neither omac or Frost will get a game

Marty Hore is a 5 gamer that makes mistakes but attacks the ball and can take a mark. He is already ahead of OMac. I recall OMac taking one very good mark yesterday but aside from that he put in another wet lettuce performance.

Havent watched or listen to the game to due to myself also playing a game of footy. Gonna watch the replay now.

Would like to ask how did my boy Billy Stretch play? 18 disposals and 1 goal seems like a good game?

Putrid first quarter when his opponent had 9 touches and ran riot.

9 pages in and no sign of Olisik's negative tripe.. the guys craves a loss.

How good is footy!

Lol we get a win and you come  into an online forum to say this? Nothing about the game or anything, higher priority is to comment about random people you don’t know.

Since your so obsessed with me and my actions, I was out on this [censored] last night and just woke up to have a quick read of DL.

I don't buy in to the theory that when Hannan gets back our forward line woes will disappear.

Neither do I.

It is more feasible to imagine that Hannan adds a reinforcement to the fwd line through opportunities that he exploits so well. He must be guarded against by opponents, as well, thus releasing other forwards to have their way when the ball is on the ground or outside a pack mark moment. Therefore, his fwd presence to my eye is one of balance and 'reserve' firepower ... quite accurate, at that.

3rd Qtr around 13:55 to go. Harmes markes in centre and TWO Hawks jog past him 5m either side. The rule is a joke. And the interpretation is worse.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
