Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

What the actual [censored]!??

How about focusing on getting their skills right on an oval instead of drowning each other in a pool!

Paaark me we are no good on the footy field , so this bulltish exercise which is designed to lift??ah some footy skills??? almost drowns one of our players.

Whoever thinks these things up needs to resign and whoever sanctions these things needs to walk away.

This is garbage.

LETS FOCUS ON GETTING THE FOOTY DOING SOMETHING WITH IT AND WINNING GAMES.

Only MFC!! sheeit!

Dont be so critical.  Starving the brain of oxygen will surely help the players skills and decision making.

Melbourne's season in one picture:

But seriously, my god put him on a grapefruit diet before you try this again. It's quackery but at least it'll make him lose weight rather than die.

It's locked up in the same vault as that infamous performance review commissioned by Cameron Schwab.

It's a good sign, to see he is pushing himself right to his limits.   I'm sorry he had a bad experience this time,  but he has recovered well apparently,  and trained since.

It seems all the other players went thru this with no issues.?

Probably trying too hard as a result of every second bastard being onhis case.

We want them trying too hard... at Training.   To try to stretch their limits.   That is how we improve.   Especially at the elite level.

That Pic was at the pre-season camp session up at Qld.  Possibly their 1st session of this exercise.

You mob are clowns. Half of you have no idea what the benefits of this training are and the other half are too ignorant to care.

Blackouts like this can be common for people who have taken it too far like Trac.

If we 5-1 in the black we’d be applauding him for pushing himself that little bit further.

Peanuts.

We need this more effective modification to training to rid the witchcraft that bedevils the club. A witches dunking stool would be more appropriate.

This is how my step-brother died. It triggered a heart attack. He wasn't properly supervised, but if it can lead to heart failure (he was healthy and athletic) then I don't know if that's an acceptable risk for our players. I also don't know what the potential for heart failure is with other forms of hypoxic training - there was a delay in rescuing my step-brother from the pool, such that cause of death was ultimately drowning.

I don't mean to be a downer - and joke away as you would - but I don't think it's fair if our players are criticised in the future for not engaging in especially risky exercises. Lastly, my step-brother saved two other lives through organ donation. For those unaware, it requires more than a tick on your driver's license to ensure your intentions are followed in this respect.

Why the F are they even doing this type of training mid way through the season? If you’re not fit enough by now then you shouldn’t be available for selection. It’s playing football we’re no good at, not free diving.

Even if this training is safe and appropriate for an AFL footballer it really seems like pre season thing, not between games.

Being a lifelong asthmatic I can fully understand the idea behind it. Swimming was the only thing that developed my lung capacity to a point where I was able to ease off on medications.

Having said that, surely there are other, safer, ways of doing it??? Also, if this was a preseason training drill, why are we still doing it? It's game time, let's get some skills training happening and retain fitness levels, rather than pushing to improve. No wonder players look tired on game day and can't dispose properly.

They have a musk that can do the same thing, they have been out a few years now.

As a lifelong asthmatic I got on a bike and started punching out 400k a week and 3-4min/km 5k runs and cutting out dairy and animal based food and voila . Not the same for everyone ja

Strange timing . before the game on live to air tonight, boak was interviewed and he’s doing the same or a v similar thing. Even Has a pool at his house he does it in, and all the commentators were praising him re his commitment to getting the max out of his body.

Sounds like trac pushed it too far..but seems like the practice is wide spread.

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
