Do not care about the Filth's condition in losing Pert. Not one little bit. Someone suggested that Pert will be the white knight in saving the Club by procuring a home ground and facilities. Well and good, but already, as a member, I would like to hear/see and witness some current leadership (that he appears to be holding in abeyance at present and since his appointment). The Club really needs this leadership at present and so far, Pert ain't the provider. His predecessor would have totally outscored him at this point of our history and journey into the doldrums - and is already sorely missed. Frozen inactivity is all that I can glean from Pert's appointment.

Why is it ‘trolling’ to suggest there may be a link between documented coterie and inner sanctum discontent at the Pert appointment ... and our extraordinary plummet to the foot of the ladder? Internally, the club wanted Mahoney as Jackson’s replacement. The AFL did not allow Jackson to have a say in his successor.

Mahoney had strong support from his own department - coach Simon Goodwin said so publicly at the start of June much to the chairman's chagrin - and Mahoney's colleagues were extremely disappointed on his behalf when he didn't get the job.”

As I suggested earlier I wonder about your motivation for the op. My source tells me you have an agenda fuelled by a powerful dislike of Gary Pert.

I can appreciate it looks that way, but I haven’t been as disheartened as a member since the Kardinia massacre when they sacked Bailey. With that said, Collingwood played finals 7 of his 11 years at the helm, winning 1 premiership and coming runner-up once.  If he does have an impact, sounds like a pretty good one.

The CEO drives the club ... he answers to the board and would liaise with the Chairman/President  but the Admin,  FD and various other areas are ultimately his responsibilty.

Obviously Pert can't go out and kick goals for the team but again,  the buck stops with the CEO.

So if any areas aren't performing he can step in and make decisions ... albeit with the backing of the board.

A good example is Peter Jackson ... he came in and made a lot of changes,  got rid of a lot of people (Neeld,  assistant coaches et al) as well as continuing our NT connection,  Pokies etc.

Another example is Cameron Schwab who copped the blame for just about everything (some would say rightfully so)

But all CEO's at footy clubs tend to play the same role.  So if the footy club turns to complete shitt,  the spotlight will well and truly go to Pert to fix things.  He'd be feeling the pressure right now I'd imagine.  Pride plays a factor too. 

But let's not point the finger at any particular individual for our current plight ... we need a big lift right across the board.  Players,  FD included.

What is your evidence (supposition from Caroline Wilson or another journo, or scuttlebut from inside the club isn't evidence by the way)?

Like you i feel terrible about where we are at ATM, as all true fans are. I do wonder how helpful right now it is for dees fans to be debating if we got the right guy and used the right process and repeating rumour an innuendo from journos. Even less helpful to be stating things as inflammatory sa the notion that the AFL controlled pert's appointment not the MFC board as fact not supposition. Hence my cynicism about your motives. 

But i have been watching Counterpoint so perhaps i'm wired to look for conspiracies.
