Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Anyone the Hawks are interested in, we should also be doing our due diligence on.

“The General” was on an upward form curve prior to his knee injury last year and word is his prospects of a full comeback at AFL level are better than good. And he’s coming out of contract.

A genuine tall marking target who can kick 50+ goals, bust packs and straighten up the side must be recruiting priority number one heading into 2020. With this type of player and some quick classy mids in the draft I believe we can bounce right back into contention in 2020.

Watch Weid, Tracc, TMac and the Melky Bar Kid walk a foot taller with a fit Jonno Patton commanding the forward 50.

Risk v Reward is massive with this guy. What would it take in trade to get him? Start the bidding at our 2nd round pick?

Prefer Jeremy Cameron...

Has the edge over Patton where it counts playing as a key forward (career averages)...

> Marks inside 50 (elite)

> Marks on a lead (elite)

> Score involvements (6.4 per game!)

> Goals (2.6 per game... elite).  Finished 7th for average goals scored per game 2018 (just  behind T-Mac) and presently leading the Coleman.

Free agent.  No brainer.

Wouldn’t Hawks need to fill their quota of first round draft picks taken?

Good point you make, unless I’m mistaken (can happen) they haven’t used a first round pick since 2015.

Cameron is better than Tom Lynch and he went for around $1.4M back ended as I understand from the reports.

Very serious money

Prefer Whitfield.

As good as he is the greater priority for us is a key forward. Can’t go into 2020 with current personnel in the forward half.

We will have a top 4 pick to draft a quick midfielder with. Quite possibly pick 1.

But how come they are always cashed up? Everyone plays for peanuts down there.  O’Meara, Mitchell, Wingard, “he who shall not be named”, McEvoy, Chip, are all on Newstart. Smith, Roughy on the pension?

Cognilio as a FA and Rowell or similar as 1st round pick would help us more than a kneeless, highly priced KPF.

Both those guys would be great but who do you propose we kick the prune to inside F50 next year? What’s your solution?

His knee doesn’t appear to be putting off Hawthorn.

Better delivery inside 50 will lead to goals. Tmac and Weid have had horrid delivery. Games are won in the midfield, the 666 rule has emphasised this. But I guess you knew that.

What I know is that we kicked 1 goal from 28 entries to close out Thursday night’s debacle. What I know is that TMac has kicked 3 goals for the year, Weid 5. In 6 games. But I guess you also knew that.

How is it that Hawthorn are always cashed up and don’t go to the draft in the first round? My understanding is that they have to go to the 1st round this year as they have traded their picks the last few years. It’s amazing how we sell the farm for average players and they get stars for next to nothing.

Thanks for proving my point

Name one of our mids with A grade foot skills, partic inside 50 delivery? Oliver comes closest, but no cigar. Salem and Fritter are playing back. The rest are average to poor. What hope do our forwards have?

Cognilio and Rowell/Anderson/Young would be a massive improvement going inside 50

Patton can't get on the park, would command $800k pa and cost a 1st round pick in trade. But sure, I'll go with your call.

If you think the quality of entries is the sole reason Weid and TMac can’t mark the footy you’ve got rocks in your head. You’re way too forgiving.

Or maybe you’re right and that Clarko is a mug when it comes to recruiting.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
