Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Look... we're not necessarily playing well here.  The dew is making us fumble the ball, miss targets and turn the ball over a bit.  Our forward line isn't working too well and we're allowing the Tigers just to pick the ball off at will.  In the first term we were much better when we lowered our eyes, but with the pressure up we're rushing and it shows.

On the flip side, I feel like we're setting up better defensively and the pressure has been good.  Kudos to Goody for making some changes, both with the ins this week and the way we've set up.  We are well and truly in this game, but third terms have been our kryptonite this season.  We need to make sure we come out switched on to ensure we stick with them.

I think you're mostly right WB, but not sure about the dew making us fumble. I think we're good enough at that ourselves. No skills.

Hore has shown he can almost break even against Riewoldt. Send TMac forward, we need a target.

Effort & intent has been better. Obviously Goody has made some adjustments defensively to stem the flow. Forward line broke down that quarter whilst is looked good in the first, we were lowering the eyes & hitting targets, it was all just bombing that quarter.

Feels like the Neeld years, just hanging in there & at some point the opposition will kick away.

I think you've forgotten what the Neeld years were like.  This doesn't even come close.

That qtr was poor, seems like our backs pushing back when the tigers do to even the out number(watching on tele) so it didnt cost us 8 goals.

Liked us showing that we can hit a target and stop the repeat inside 50s, tigers are great at that and it was a better concentration.

Our setups got shut down a bit and got sucked in, hopefully they adjust and we get back on top in general play and we'll get better i50s for the forwards to implement the structures and leads they did in the first

Question to the TV crew. From the far reaches of L4 I saw Dustbin Fartin’ drop the ball in a tackle.. no decision.. then he touched a Melbourne player and got a HTB.

As bad a call on TV as it appeared from the ground?

The Rioli drop on the boundary was worse. Dropped it to himself, and the commentators were fawning over "all the little things that Richmond does that other teams just dont"...

No Key Forwards able to impact a contest against the grain apart from a nice contested mark and Goal from the Bull who is more a medium tall forward.    Time to go after Cameron pls.

Tracc and Harmes virtually zero impact so far!??

For all the Jeffy haters and doubters he has worked his [censored] off and played mutiple roles so far.  Decent effort / pressure when we have lost the ball also.

Viney everywhere but struggling to break free.

Hore playing another solid game.  Frosty better in the first than the 2nd but doing ok.

Hibb doing a fabulous lock down job on Dusty to this point.

Proud of their effort so far.

I love the positional changes.

We are in the game.

I just wish Weideman would take a mark.

Won't argue that we fumble anyway, but we're going for a world record tonight with how slippery it is out there.

The Neeld years felt like losing to Essendon by 120 points.

Is Trac playing?

First half could only be described as disgraceful.

Brayshaw leading possies but has turned it over relentlessly.

If we cleaned up our disposal we could be leading.

Very good effort in first half. Can we repeat it?

Don’t disagree with you about the commentators, but as long as you’re not being tackled you are allowed to drop the ball, that’s what a bounce is and what happens when you drop the ball to your foot in an attempt to kick it but miss. No free in either situation.

Noticed that GLG. Preeetty sure you still need to handball to yourself, right?

Probably came in this year without me realizing..

We’re much better than last week in most areas but our skills are too bad for us to keep in this game.

That’s partly due to Richmond’s elite pressure but also because we’re just butchering it.

The defensive structure is better, the positional changes Goodwin made are largely working and we have a better hunger and work rate, all of which are positives. But if we keep turning it over at half forward Richmond will eventually make us pay.

we are lucky to still be in the game given our [censored] poor disposal. i dont know why they waste a spot on ANB every damn week he is proven to be a waste of space. If Max can only get his mojo back in his hitouts to advantage we could have a chance. What i dont understand though is we kicked the ball out of defence at least half a dozen time and there were no melbourne players there, what gives. why are they not staying up the ground to cover the opponents. and give our backs something to kick to for a change, as they are getting sick of kicking it to richmond players.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P
