Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

This team has lost any and all credibility it earned last year, and not one thing gives me any confidence they’ve got any idea how to come back in any meaningful way. I fear it’s gonna get very ugly on the biggest night of this club’s year, and if we’re not considered an embarrassment already, tonight will nail home our shame good and proper.

Richmond employ a ( to us ) very clever tactic called run and spread. Our catatonic scribe deciphers have yet to crack this code or understand its real harm.

We were only competitive in the past ( recent) as we went about our chaotic nature with verve and manic belief. Even that's a distant shadow of itself.

We can't hit a barn. We play the dumbest brand of football I've seen this year. Half our team already the walking wounded or retired to base-hospital.

Our brains trust exist in a vacuum of their own ignorant arrogance.

Unfortunately those Tigers will be salivating at the thought of a 4 course meal tonight.

There will no doubt be some brave individual efforts and good on them for that.

Tonights forecast.... another Badloss.

We don't have the cattle

We don't have a game that works ( anymore )

We don't have the required leadership, direction or mastery of our fate.

Appropriate that this evening is a reminder of Gallipoli.

Best we forget

Thankyou thiugh to the real heroes of this event. Those that served, and gave.

what is this run and spread you speak of?

surely it is better for us all to run towards and the ball and try to get it??

uh oh, they got out the back again.  re-start - let's try again!

My 4 year old niece has just enlightened me to tell me why Melbourne lost. Because they wern't wearing the right knickers. So that's where it's going wrong. Kids have the simplest explanations sometimes.

But tonight Im interested to see what we will bring. I found last night the essendon game and I only watched the 2nd quarter where we kicked 5 or 6 goals in a row. That's where we were at our best at pressure, tackling playing on and kicking it properly to our forwards.

I just want to see a better effort and start tonight.

Garlett to kick 5, including the sealer from the pocket on his left foot.

Tom Mac to have 8 marks and kick 3 goals.

Frost to keep Tom Lynch to one kick, which goes out on the full.

Hibberd to dash from half back, take 9 bounces at full tilt and dob it from 20 metres out.

DEMONS!!

These are good meds.

Stock up !! ;)

Very pessimistic about this one, side on paper looks average at best. Our form is putrid and doesn’t look like turning around tonight.

There is a real chance Lynch, Higgins and Dusty could kick 20 goals between them.

Dees won’t kick 10 goals for the game.

Almost 80,000 fans showed up last year and 85,000 the year before it.   A sideshow it isn't.

I agree. A side show it isn't.... however...

Tonight's game is a real action history lesson before about 75000 Toiges and 5000 demonic volunteers.

Calling a 70k crowd given the weather. 20k Melbourne supporters (at best). Toiges by 7-8 goals.

It’s a reciprocal game for members so it might be slightly better. Watch out for QBD to be one sided. Collingwood home game and not reciprocal.

Is Goodwin 'woke' enough to change tactics?

I also 'woke' this morning for a run at 6am in the dark, and ran by BMAC (not TMAC) down at Barwon Heads, having a morning stroll...didn't know if he looked [censored]  off, tired, or just disengaged...

Whatever way you look at it is a sideshow to Anzac Day. If we don't start making these games a contest we will lose it to another side. We had better play well in 2020.

Outside of last season, we've made every one of these games a contest and, prior to 2017, we won a few on the trot.  At no point have we been noncompetitive.  We have filled out the 'G with some massive crowds and put on some terrific footy, 2018 aside, although we were well in the game at three quarter time.

I love how our form means you can make stuff up on a whim.  I don't know why you do it.

The simple fact is that the AFL won't maintain the lower teams in these games unless they perform. We never looked like winning last year. If this year is the walk over it looks like being then the pressure will be on in 2020.

No, it won't.  They continued to give us QB for years when we stunk, so I have no idea why they would take ANZAC Eve away from us just because of one or two bad results.  It just won't happen OD, no matter how much you wish it too so it can suit your narrative further.

Fully agree Webber. All that has changed this week is 5 vfl players in. Last year was yet again another false dawn, we fluked a couple of finals wins, crumbled when it mattered and have continued that sorry trend. Really not that surprised but boy oh boy extremely disappointed. Good luck to you optimists, but you will reach my level of despair over time

And yet we were only 2 goals down early in the last

Not saying we will win by 10 goals tonight, but the wrist slashing and hyperbole on Land of late is both ridiculous and hilarious at the same time. Some posters need a big injection of positivity up their clacker. Life is too short to expect the worst every time.

Tigers by 90 points.

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
