Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I took this current information direct from  the Melbournefc website.

I wouldn't take our website as gospel, it's quite poorly run this year.

So are you saying that fans are not allowed to analyse team performances, that they have no knowledge of footy and have no right to offer an opinion?

Are you also saying that the club will publicly tell the truth about in house matters and that whatever it tells you is correct?

Unfortunately most peoples opinions these days are formed from reading or listening to so called experts in the media, this not only happens in footy but across all facets of day to day living

The number of posts that repeat verbatim something a media pundit spouts, mainly because the said pundit gets paid for providing content, borders on plagiarism

Of course some nuff nuffs like Mark Stevens read some unsubstantiated twaddle on here and turn it into a story and then posts on here to stoke the fire

I am lucky enough to get told a few things, but keep them to myself, as I  am asked to

Mahoney and Pert are too smart to let twaddle get out of hand, they will put a lid on it if they think it is necessary

If we were playing better none of this would even happen or be reported/speculated/rumoured

On what basis do you say Pert is smart, by that I mean Head honcho smart? I do not think anyone who pursues a training base over a railway track in public land without local and state govt backing is smart.

Saty is deluded, and will never say a bad word about the club or its staff or the players.  We could go 0-22 with a percentage of 20 and it will still be blue skies to him.

He is a propagandist.

Disagree. Rather a boss who relentlessly pursues the best interests of the club, not one that backs down to the first sign of resistance by stakeholders.

In all due respect i'd trust Mark Stevens intel over yours.

After all he is well connected in the footballing industry (or he wouldn't be employed in his line of work)...

Yeah you know heaps more about the club than Paul Roos,  lol.

Roos said players came back unfit.  Are your sources better than his?  ?

Well, lets see, we talking about McCartney and defence are we?

Didn't Rawlings go to Casey Demons to coach them, from the 2018 season onward.?   That was last year, I think.

https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2017-09-28/rawlings-appointed-casey-demons-coach

So, when did Chaplin take over our Defence ?   And, when did McCartney go down to work from the Bench ?   I think that was last year. ?

McCartney went down to the bench to operate, sometime mid season, last year.   And we seemed to go fairly well,  in the 2nd half of last season.

I noticed that McCartney is listed as Defensive coach ( team defence? )...  rather the Defence Coach which is Troy Chaplin.

..................................................................

From the website >  https://www.melbournefc.com.au/Team/players/coaches

Chaplin.png

Chaplin has been a part of the Melbourne coaching setup since September 2016,  originally serving as the club’s offensive coordinator.

The former key defender,  who retired at the end of the 2016 season,  played 215 AFL matches from 2004-16.

Chaplin represented Port Adelaide in 140 games from 2004-12 and made 75 appearances for Richmond from 2013-16.  During his playing days,  he kept an eye towards a coaching career,  honing his craft at Sturt,  Oakleigh Chargers in the TAC Cup and assisting with Richmond in his last few months at Punt Rd.

He made his AFL debut in round four,  2004 against the red and blue at the Mcg  –  the same day Melbourne general manager of football operations  Josh Mahoney  played his first game for the Power............

.

I don't think McCartney is a problem for us Demons.

The Club has not broadcast their plans nor submitted them to Local or State authorities for approvals!  When they do, if it gets up, then he is “smart”. It is the best position on a number of levels so I applaud the Club for pursuing it! I am assuming that they are getting first-class advice! ?

You may not remember Satyr but at the very start of the year I commented on many of our players disrupted Pre-seasons from operations and you quickly responded that it doesnt mean their relative pre-seasons were interrupted. You said their was no interruptions and everything was on track. Many others chimed in and said you didnt understand the relevance of missing even 2 weeks on the track.

Yet you do portray yourself as an expert on here.

And you say that problems are merely rumours.

You give me the tom thits.

In my eyes and the view I have held for some time is that we have the weakest coaching panel in the comp. Never liked what Roosy put together, which he did on the back of lack of time, hence selected who he knew he could work with. Goodwin has not added many solid layers.

I dont know what you mean by broadcast plans, but it is common enough knowledge to have an action group opposing the plans. They will  never win this one because local ratepayers object who have the support of the local and state government.

He may or may not be deluded, but if he is, he joins a significant number on this site who are similarly deluded. I was certainly deluded over summer over our prospects this year, given injuries, operations and all the other things mentioned to-date.

I am not his defender but Saty is not a propagandist. If so, who is he spreading propaganda on behalf of?

His communication style may rankle but he is a committed supporter, a loyalist and believer, not a bad thing when there is so much negativity.

I would of thought that playing in a team that had a great back 6 and playing in a premiership he’d know quite a bit. He would of played against some great setups and have some insight into what works and what doesn’t. He may not necessarily be the best but surely he’s no mug.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
