Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

hawks are already setting up to throw everything at him, unfortunately, and his best mate plays there and has just signed a backloaded four year deal to help...

If indeed O'Meara signed a back-ended deal to help free up space and the rumours about Tom Mitchell and Chad Wingard doing the same are true, then...

1. The Hawks have space to chase Coniglio, and

2. They are setting themselves up for a bigger than Buddy budget hole when all the back-end pay comes due on players on the age slide.

That's pretty much it.  It was very much a tongue in cheek suggestion from me.  I was trying to highlight the point that a few people just want someone with pace in the side, or to recruit someone with pace, without actually looking fully at what they bring to the side.  A few rounds ago there were suggestions we should bring Baker in, purely because he is quick.  We need much, much more than just pace.

Oh I realised you were taking the [censored]. It just reminded me how bad Blease was.

I was rapt when we picked him up in the draft. How wrong I was.

We are a bit slow. But it's not as bad as some think. I'm hoping we pick up a hard running mid or two this year. Port have done extremely well by picking up Rozzee, Duursma, Butters and Drew. All of a sudden they are flush with youth and speed. It can turn around pretty quickly.

3 most likely

Zac Jones

Callum AH Chee

Jackson Nelson

3 running midfielders.

We should have a heap of cash to play with IMO. Hogan would have freed up a bit.

I think I remember something about MFC enquiring with the Eagles about this Jack Petruccelle kid during last years trade period. shame it didn't go anywhere, he's kicked 5 goals tonight and has got some decent wheels on him. could of been a good get for us running around on the big spaces of the MCG. looks just the sort we lack.

A few of our regular posters were strong on him in his draft year. We had three chances to get him but picked Spargo, Fritsch and Petty.

Not so big in current terms 'norm'.

We don't have anyone close to the $1mill mark so I'm sure we have plenty of cap space if we choose to use it.

That would have all went to May.

Most. Sure. Front ended hopefully.

The club advised mid last year that we had enough room to go after another player in the trade period. We lost Hogan and got May. Everything else isnt worth analysis.

We should have a heap of cash. Just my opinion.

Need to look at those clubs who will need salary cap relief and trade hard for a player in the 10-15 range of that club's best 22.

Off the top of my head both Sydney and GWS will be looking to create room. You would think Collingwood and Richmond would be in a similar boat.

I watched the swans game last night and was very impressed with their Jordan Dawson. Its the first time i have him and I think he shows great potential on last nights effort. I've discovered he's from SA, but does anyone know his contract status? Again, based on last nights showing, could be a great long term pick up.

Carlton are chasing Coniglio hard and have been for a while

Zak Jones moving up the pecking order at Sydney this year may push his price up if he shines. His hard run and leg speed are what we need through the middle.  Not sold on his decision making and disposal

Agree. Zak Jones is not polished and composed enough for the type of midfielder we need. Viney, Clarry and Gus need blokes on the outside who ooze speed AND class. That’s what’s missing.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
