Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

How’s the Bear’s side looking? Full strength or close to?

*Haven’t been across this game as we’ve been moving house this week. Foxtel got installed yesterday thank god. Last time we moved there were massive issues and didn’t have Fox footy for first 5 rounds. Out of desperation I drew a dodgy picture of stick figures playing footy and stuck it on the TV.

No injuries, in both the Casey and Melbourne games, is all I'm after today. Result is irrelevant, although it's always nicer to win.

Interested to see how the back line functions with the players we have coming back into the side. Lions will have a red hot crack so should be a good game to watch.

Not only does Cranbourne East sound like a truly horrible place, but I had no idea it was so far from Melbourne, you know, the name on our can. It's basically an away game.

Someone needs to take the blame for this travesty - and I doubt it's Jack Watts' fault, as there doesn't seem to be much in the way of top-shelf swimming and [censored] opportunities in the near vicinity.

Reality-check - we're now only missing Viney, Lever and Milkshake from our confirmed 2019 core crew. Anything less than a ten-goal win is unacceptable in my opinion. Remember that time Hawthorm pummeled us by 90-something points in the pre-season - I want that. In reverse, obviously. And IDGAF about injuries TBH - we'll cop them at some stage - let's go hard from the outset, come what may.

Brisbane are missing just Zorko and Adams (defender they got from Dogs)

A win is critical today in order to keep our flickering top 4 JLT hopes alive.

Hoping for a more consistent and even effort today after last week’s poor performance.

You’d like to think we won’t be conceding another 16 goals with the inclusion of 3 premium players in May, Jetta and Hibberd to the back 6.

At the end of the day you would like to think we will put up a more consistent effort than last week, but I don't see a win or loss as that important. Being cherry ripe to blow Port off the MCG in Round 1 is what we are after.

The road to Cranbourne is open in the summer months. Take plenty of water, and provisions for three days, and extra fuel. Notify police before you go, including your car rego and expected date of arrival. There is no mobile phone coverage, so two-way radios will be useful, as will flares and matches, whistles and mirrors in case of emergency.

Once you safely arrive in Cranbourne, you will be able to re-provision for the second leg to Cranbourne East, where the same precautions will be necessary.

Good luck, and may God watch over those poor brave souls.

(And, GO DEMONS!)

Hope Goody told the boys to aim the tackles on Mathieson at his ankles. End result should be a legitimate tackle around the waist area.

Have been to Casey fields a few times now.

It's not too bad save that it lacks atmosphere and public transport.

Brings back memories of trekking to Waverley in the 80's. Then we thought Waverley was in the middle of nowhere. Now it's almost an inner suburb still without atmosphere and public transport.

I have christened the goals ... the bayside end and the Culloden end ( after nearby Berwick of course).... perhaps we could arrange for a piper or two.

Go ye bonny lads !!

I live about 25 mins away in Seaford so it’s actually the closest ground for me to get to, don’t mind it out there at all. Main advice is bring a jumper because even if it hits 27 today but halftime when that wind rips through the ground it gets darn cold

Cranbourne and environs moving towards the beach backroads used to be a great weekend trek in the EH wagon, filled with beer and good blokes, and there were some good little spots to put up the marquis, light a campfire and toss around a few director's chairs for some serious refreshments and malted nutrition. Sunday night return via the pubs along the Nepean Hwy for good tucker, and for dessert, some nice eye-candy. The Dees were starting to go downhill, after the '65 Grand Final back then ... but fond memories of that environment are hard to cast off.

Viney looks like a bull at the gates out there. One bit of play he tackled a bloke, pried the footy from his grasp & bollocked his way through 3 guys before he got the clearance. Can’t wait to see him unleashed in round 1. ?

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
