Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Poor bloke sounds like he has some personal troubles.

Good luck Majak.

Best wishes, Majak.

It’s still mighty tough for young people, especially young men, to come out and talk about their mental health. Perhaps instead of focusing on Superhero themed pre-season games, the AFL could look at supporting mental health initiatives and hold a Beyond Blue Cup or something similar. All the best to Majak, I hope he gets the help and support he needs.

Far out, the poor bloke.  and his poor family/friends

so sad when guys suffer in silence and then feel life is hopeless.  A mate of mine from work left us a month ago and I'm still struggling to deal with it, let alone those closest to him.

I hope he recovers and can move on from this.

They should have flung their crap square game and used that money on player services.

This could have been so much worse. Poor bloke needs some serious support to overcome whatever caused him to do what he did.

I really hope he finds his way back to good mental health soon.

If true, this is seriously [censored] up.

need a public shaming campaign to make the afl how shitty an policy that is.

All the Best Majak

Majak... I hope you recover well, and see a brighter future for yourself and your loved ones.

I like and respect you...  and I know life can be pretty tough to take at times.

I hope your footy isn't part of the problem as sport can be a great uplifting thing.

... anyway, If you here about our Demonland thread in your support, I hope it helps to lift a smile upon your dial.  ?

Here's to you kid, and your loved ones as well.

Wow. That is so sad. To be in that mindset, to will yourself to do that...That Black Dog is a strong energy pull

i often see on my twitter feed that Wayne Schwass still plans out every single day....

Schwass has been vocal today.

There’s a tweet by a Jake Edwards in the link below about an AFL club cancelling his talk with their players just last week then we hear about Daw today. Some discussion in the comments on whether he should name and shame the club.

This is so sad on a number of levels.

We should all be aware that mental health issues involve AFL footballers as much as any other part of society and we should all be ready to extend a hand of friendship and help whenever people are in trouble.

And if you are in trouble, talk to a doctor, friend or relative about it or contact the people at Lifeline.

Wishing Majak all the best in the future. The football world is behind him.

The AFL and the clubs still think they are somewhat outside of society, when in reality they are Front and center in terms of interest.

Why would a talk be cancelled???

Strange that the club would cancel it Swyl. The club didn’t want their players exposed to that kind of talk. That was the reason stated in his tweet.

We regularly have people coming in and talking to us at our workplace as we have lost two colleagues in the last two years and some still don’t know enough about these issues. We’ve seen the impact it has on families and hope everything works out for Daw’s.

This is exactly why we have to get back to being an open door club, welcoming everyone...

In Jimma's wishes,  cut the stuffy out when at footy and be humans again...  leave the 'toffiness' out of the club.   Be a welcoming club to all levels,  where all can roll sleeves up to elbows and be equals in arms.

Yes i read that the club didn’t want exposure. Just so short sighted. I lost a very close mate to suicide 4 years ago, and that stemmed from Workplace bullying over a period of at least 2 years. The company did nothing about it even though they knew about it, but the boss turned up to the Funeral and offered to pay for the service.

Let’s just say a few people had to be restrained when they found out who this person was.

I hope that club was not MFC as I hope we understand the importance of all aspects of player welfare.  But above all I truly hope that club was not North Melbourne.

A sad day today.  A wake up call for all those in the industry that have these young men in their care.  All the best to Majak.

Feel sorry for the guy. Was obviously hurting and couldnt get the support he needed. A real shame.

Gonna be one hell of a recovery - but at least he is still here and can hopefully get help.

I'd like to know a little more on that score.

If true it's simply abhorrent.

The pressure on boys/young men to perform is enormous in this game. Add to that the world of social media and it is an unbelievable cauldron.

Mental health issues are so prevalent in young people these days (in people of all ages really).

It is one of our biggest epidemics in terms of health and well being in Australia.

Why we don't spend more money and time helping and educating people, as a society, is beyond me. There is still a stigma attached to having depression or anxiety, especially amongst men, and until we remove this stigma, people will continue to suffer in silence.

Surely it has to be a mistaken tweet?

Why wouldn’t you want players exposed to the danger of mental health from an ex AFL player, and one that had a successful career too? It shows that even a great player, a cemented firsts player with money to burn can still have mental health issues. Also shows the courage to come out and talk about it, that it’s ok to talk about it and some of the possible warning signs etc.

I would be totally shattered if this tweet was true and it was us. ?

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
