Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

You know things are going well when you come to demonland and find medical diagrams.

I can't help but think Melksham and Lewis fighting through the pain to play on was key to us actually having a chance to win.

Way I see it Melksham did nothing after the original incident to cause a break which means it was always there so he was always going to miss weeks, even if we didn't know it at the time.

I can understand people's frustrations particularly with the Joel incident in JLT 2. But this time 4 points and what slim hope there is left in the season was on the line. It will most likely amount to nothing.. but if we do want to try and scrape into 8th this year this could be the difference.

Our injury list is so bad it resembles the krap that comes from a politicians mouth. At the moment we are getting a double dose of both.

The pain he showed on the medical table before coming back on surely would have indicated more than a sprain.

Players are tough and want to play. Melksham strikes me as being one of the toughest (I'm not sure why I think that.) Is it possible he wouldn't show he was in pain so as to get back onto the ground?

Why the outrage, for all we know going back on the ground may have helped heal Jakey boys foot and reduce time out of the game. Looking forward to the whining from so called doctors on here.

How would it have helped? He’s out for 5 weeks!

Can we actually assemble a full team for this weeks game??

If Weideman is unavailable for Casey and they take two travelling emergencies to Perth the AFL listed players available for Casey will be around 5.

In theory the emergencies could take the red eye back to Melbourne and be available for Casey on Saturday at 2pm. Not ideal but possible.

Had  a look at the league wide injury lists and many clubs have long lists. Collingwood was near ours in number for example.

I realise it all about who is out and for how long but the quality of our depth which has been a problem for years is really showing.

I thought Lever was meant to play VFL last week??

Could we be lucky enough to get Lever and Hannan playing VFL this week and get them into the team V GWS the following week?

Then May to come back in against Adelaide or Collingwood?

I think they've said the want lever to play at least 2 games. This week will likely only be a half or 3 qtrs, and then a full game next week.

He has said he is eyeing the NT game against Adelaide, but I wouldn't be surprised if he is held until QB

he didn't play against the Bombers but if he did play this week... even for a half that would be great.

Haven't heard about Hannan

This weeks game is against Port Melbourne who are a non aligned team which generally means that their across the board team strength is quite high.

The list is looking decidedly healthier!

The five players listed as 'Test' are expected to be available this week?

Pleased that Sam is one of them and has avoided hip surgery?, at least for now.

KK is aiming to play a game before the bye.  No detail on AvB status.

Would be an amazing effort if Hibberd is back 2 weeks after his collarbone.

I'm pretty sure this is not uncommon. If I recollect correctly, other players have returned in quick time from this sort of injury once a plate is inserted.

There has been no progress on the status of Smith, Kolodjashnij, Vandenberg and Jetta since the initial incidents.

Does that mean there actually is no improvement, or we're just plucking figures from thin air to complete the injury reports?

AVB now at TBA is a goddamn disaster.

Also Joel Smith has to be the worst blow out of an injury I can recall in recent times. Closely followed by Steven “I turned up unfit and drank beers with mates” May.

Spargo with foot injury which going by our history could be a one week or 3 year injury (refer to above).

16 blokes out. WTF.  now two of our best in Melk and Hibbo.

Reckon that will tip us over the edge from average to downright poor.  Brace yourselves for Friday night!

We were worse than downright poor against the Suns. Can barely recall a MFC team missing so many targets. Remarkable we won.

But as they say in the classics - it's funny old game. Who'd of though the hawks would roll GWS or blues push the pies?

I’m assuming the only reason he came back on was due to rotations. He couldn’t even jog when on the field.

Do we sob it up and concede it’s not our year due to injuries or do we draw inspiration off Richmond who are getting it done despite their injury crisis?

The Tigers had a dream run with no significant number of injuries to top liners prior to this year for three to four seasons.

Might having fewer chances to play at AFL level inadvertently have helped those at their VFL to develop/learn and mature to a point they were more capable of taking the step up to AFL level vs many of our depth players (and those of some other clubs)?

Unfortunately our depth as been shown up as poor at best, with a few exceptions.  Maybe in part for the exact opposite reasons?

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
