Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Injury List - Season 2019

Did he? I read that he first went off in the third quarter, but the break happened in the fourth quarter.

A 15-player injury list is sizeable. On the AFL's website (which is not up to date), St Kilda has 14 players listed but most other clubs are 10-12, and some are much less (e.g. Brisbane has three).

More importantly, of the 15, 8 are first choice 22 (Lewis, Lever, Melksham, Hannan, May, Hibberd, AVB, Jetta) and a further 4 (Weideman, JKH, J Smith, KK) who are on the fringe, if not actually best 22.

It's tough going for us on this front at the moment.

5 out if our starting back 6, ffs

A fracture in his mid foot? The words foot and fracture immediately make me think of Clark, Trengove, Viney, AVB and so on.

Why the [censored] would you take any risk with someone who has a foot issue?!

Won’t play again this year is my bet.

Our season keeps on going from bad to worse.

I’m sure I saw Melksham collapse in pain after landing from a marking contest shortly after coming back on in the last. It occurred near our attacking goal square. Anyone else see this?

Question for the medico's on this site:  Is 'mid-foot' another word for 'Lisfranc'?

Lets hope that’s not the moment he actually fractured the foot. Because such high levels of incompetency seem impossible. Even for the MFC.

Would they have actually known it was a fracture during the game? Unless it was obviously broken, Melky and the medical staff may have thought it was just bruised and then came back on (although in pain) but x-rays have now confirmed it was a fracture.

My god the over reacting on here is ridiculous. I know its disappointing...

you think we have an MRI scan on the sidelines? he was sore but you can't diagnose a broken bone in the mid foot on the sidelines.  and if you stopped any sore player from going back on you'd have 10 blokes on the field by the 4th Q.

Every club does it!!  Tiges will Jack twice, with a broken hand and then leg/foot.

far out

Hi name is Misson not mission. Players are sent back on to the ground every week when injured and have been forever. Many start games with a residual injury. It’s a ruthless and tough business. If you want to follow table tennis then you won’t be outraged.

[censored] philosophy and [censored] player management, really in this day and age sending "Elite" athletes back with potentially serious injuries is tantamount to success! The days of play through pain are loong gone!

Melksham CLEARLY should NEVER have been allowed back on. Joel Smith, CLEARLY should NEVER have been allowed to come back on!

Agree! some pains CAN be managed but as we have seen MFC seemingly let the tail wag the dog and at the end of the day.

Again some judgements have been less than satisfactory. Hnmmmm

Just read the report on the Melbourne FC web page about Hibbo only being out for a couple which is handy.

It’s hard to compete when your first choice backline is looks like:

FB:  Knee.    Knee.     Concussion

HB:  Groin.    Groin.    Collarbone

emergency (Lewis) to be advised.

edit: forgot our forward line:

HF: Knee.   Soreness.     Ankle

FF:  Foot      TMac       Jeffy

Funny but true, Deeko2.

Why the outrage, for all we know going back on the ground may have helped heal Jakey boys foot and reduce time out of the game. Looking forward to the whining from so called doctors on here.

A hyper-extension of the foot as a minimum... sprained...  and serious injury for a footballer, surely.

And then to find out its actually a broken bone in the mid-foot...  even worse.   There had to be someone else on the bench,  who could run better than him.

Heard Damien Hardwick having a whinge about injuries to Richmond the other day, he said something like 'Some luck would be nice'.

They barely had an injury for years and won a  flag off the back of a full list to choose from.  What a whining little [censored] he is.

That is a bit rich coming from Hardwick, as you said they basically won a premiership off the back of one of the best injury runs I've ever seen.

The pain he showed on the medical table before coming back on surely would have indicated more than a sprain.

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
