Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Pull the trigger? ... 2018 Edition

Forgetting for a moment all the trade and FA compensation minutiae of how these circumstances arise, if you were the football manager for these clubs would you pull the trigger on these deals?

Geelong viewpoint  - Would you trade Tim Kelly and Pick 11 for Pick 7 and Pick 15?

Carlton or Adelaide viewpoint - Would you trade Pick 1 for Pick 4 and McGovern?

Port Adelaide viewpoint  - Would you trade Pick 9 and Pick 10 for Pick 5 and Fremantle’s 2019 2nd rounder?

Melbourne viewpoint  - Would you trade Hogan for May and Pick 10?

GWS viewpoint  - Would you trade Lobb for Pick 11?

GWS or Carlton viewpoint  - Would you trade Pick 4 and 2019 1st rounder for Shiel?

Gold Coast viewpoint - Would you accept Pick 9 for May?

Geelong, Yes. Wouldn’t want to but you would.

Carlton, yes. Not sure on Adelaide, don’t know enough of the draftees

port, once again, don’t know enough but they prob would cos of the supposed great SA talent

Melb, reluctantly yes, but rather keep 5 and swap 10 if that’s what you mean by May and 10.

GWS yes, and I’d chase Preuss.

Carlton yes, GWS... not sure.

GC, Yes as I’d want a complete clean slate sort of like the lions did a few years ago.

Yes.

Carlton or Adelaide viewpoint - Would you trade Pick 1 for Pick 4 and McGovern?

No. Would take Walsh or Lukosius. McGovern overrated.

Port Adelaide viewpoint  - Would you trade Pick 9 and Pick 10 for Pick 5 and Fremantle’s 2019 2nd rounder?

No. Would insist on the pick 4 they’re getting for Neale. Port want Isak Rankine.

Melbourne viewpoint  - Would you trade Hogan for May and Pick 10?

No. For picks 5 & 10 only.

GWS viewpoint  - Would you trade Lobb for Pick 11?

Yes.

GWS or Carlton viewpoint  - Would you trade Pick 4 and 2019 1st rounder for Shiel?

Yes.

Gold Coast viewpoint - Would you accept Pick 9 for May?

Yes but only with one or two decent mature players thrown in to sweeten deal. Frost and/or Tyson.

Hmmmmmmmmm...

Geelong - won't play finals again for at least five years, Kelly is already 24, so trade for the draft picks

Carlton - should keep pick 1, because in about four years time when the Blues are ready for their next rebuild, they'll be able to trade Lukosious for two top-10 picks. But seriously, Carlton people are surviving solely on the hope of some superstars giving them a core they can make a rapid recovery from, so the remarkable gun forward is what they need. Think Matthew Richardson for Richmond.

Port Adelaide - hold 9 and 10. Just because of the apparent curve of talent in this years draft still holding very strong past this point, and the possibility of a steal.

Melbourne - No, I'd want to end with May and a better pick than 10.

GWS - Yep, take 11, need to clear cap space anyway after SOS botched up the list management.

Carlton - Effectively two picks in the top 5 for 1 player who is very good but not team-changing, nope.

Geelong viewpoint  - Would you trade Tim Kelly and Pick 11 for Pick 7 and Pick 15?

Yes. Cash in.

Carlton or Adelaide viewpoint - Would you trade Pick 1 for Pick 4 and McGovern?

Yes but only just. Get more value.

Port Adelaide viewpoint  - Would you trade Pick 9 and Pick 10 for Pick 5 and Fremantle’s 2019 2nd rounder?

No. Without being Port’s list manager I would say they should hold these.

Melbourne viewpoint  - Would you trade Hogan for May and Pick 10?

If that’s the absolute best on offer then yes.

GWS viewpoint  - Would you trade Lobb for Pick 11?

I’m gonna say yes, Lobb is more suited as a forward and the Giants could use a quality hit out guy. Maybe trade it for Pruess and another pick.

GWS or Carlton viewpoint  - Would you trade Pick 4 and 2019 1st rounder for Shiel?

GWS - Yes Carlton - no

Gold Coast viewpoint - Would you accept Pick 9 for May?

No, without May GC becomes a Crèche. Would much prefer a 1st rounder and an experienced player that can improve us right now.

Geelong viewpoint  - Would you trade Tim Kelly and Pick 11 for Pick 7 and Pick 15? Yes, that would be a great result in a strong draft.

Carlton or Adelaide viewpoint - Would you trade Pick 1 for Pick 4 and McGovern? Adelaide yes, Carlton no if they think they can get Shiel.

Port Adelaide viewpoint  - Would you trade Pick 9 and Pick 10 for Pick 5 and Fremantle’s 2019 2ndrounder? Yes, if they are keen on one of the highly rated SA kids.

Melbourne viewpoint  - Would you trade Hogan for May and Pick 10? No, I would want Kolodjashnij too if we only get pick 10. First preference is to keep Hogan. Second preference is for two first round draft picks. Not really keen on May.

GWS viewpoint  - Would you trade Lobb for Pick 11? Every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Who would give pick 11 for him though?

GWS or Carlton viewpoint  - Would you trade Pick 4 and 2019 1st rounder for Shiel? GWS yes, Carlton would need a late first round pick to come back.

Gold Coast viewpoint - Would you accept Pick 9 for May? No. The AFL will ensure that GC receive a pick after their first round pick next year if May leaves as a free agent, which could well be pick 2.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
