Just imagine, we get 13 wins and Geelong knock us out of the top 8 by percentage. Would that not be the most infuriating end to the season imaginable, considering our two losses against the pricks?

I can't think of any ending more heartbreaking for the MFC, which means it will definitely happen. This team always finds creative new ways to plunge the knife deeper into our hearts.

That would be the final boot to the teeth in 2018 from those hubcaps..

You would think Ross got a phone call at quarter time.

Turnoverfest at the ‘G’.

Not in Perth. Beautiful weather down in Freo at the moment.

Freo players must wish they were there.

I hear ya SF....we just have to win.

Pies with a free...Maynard pushes a hand on Motlop’s chest off the ball in front of Nicholls, Motlop retaliates the same way and 50 metres....Goal results. Motlop gets pushed off his feet on the way back to the centre in front of an umpire and nothing. Commentators as perplexed as the rest of us.

Port Collingwood has been a good contest.

You just know if Melbourne was in Collingwood’s position in this game they would have bottled it. You’d put your last dollar on it.

Cats percentage could catch us today at this rate.

If we get 13 Geelong is the only team who can pass us, and given Port are going to lose to Collingwood no one else can.

With Port's loss, if we get to 13 we cannot miss the finals.

Port are out of the 8.

Good result for Melbourne.

They have picked up 5% so far.

Yup.

It is now 100% guaranteed that winning 13 wins will get us into the finals.  1 more win.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
