Im glad I won't have to watch them choke come September.

Another weekend wasted watching this team. Never fail to disappoint. Perennial losers.

Melbourne unloaded an entire AK-47 mag into their [censored] feet

Sydney have spirit.  We dont.   Alex Johnson goes down when we are up by 3 goals... they crush us from that moment on.

Dogs gave us a gift. We threw it away.  After decades of not taking our opportunities, why would today have been any different?

Nathan Jones chance to kick a captains goal out on the full.  Anyone that things we are mentally fragile is kidding themselves.

I'm dirty on this loss, but I'll let the rest of the usual suspects lose the plot, slash their wrists and do the usual ranting and raving.  Seriously, go right ahead.

We lost this game today in front of goal.  Sure, they cut us up during periods of the game with their use by foot and our willingness to allow them space.  But we should never have let them win this game of footy.  When Hogan goaled and we were 3.7 it should have been 7.3, as we missed a slew of easy shots.  If we were 6 goals up then they would have been dead and buried.  But they weren't, they got a sniff and, as experienced sides do, they made their chances count when we didn't and we couldn't haul them back.

I must admit that I was bemused at times by some of our decision making, and the implied pressure of the Swans meant that we rushed things at times when we didn't need to.  We had every opportunity to win this game of footy, but we didn't make it count, and that's down to composure and skill execution under pressure.  It's not down to leadership and all that stuff.  We just didn't execute well under pressure.

We certainly lacked some class at times and too many players went missing, but this isn't the end of the world.  Seriously, it's not.  We've got two games to go - win one and we're in.  Simple as that.

Real risk of missing finals now. Not that it matters, we can't defeat 'real' top 8 sides. We would be just making up the numbers. I wish we could kick straight, reminds me of the port game.

Was always going to be a losing battle with Goodwin vs longmire in the boxes.

So many mediocre players on this list and lack of leadership and class is astonishing to me.

Hogan should be ashamed.

Vanders and pedo are barely vfl standard.

Mentally weak club!

Meek and weak for half the game.  Other teams take note:  you now have the recipe for beating Melbourne!  Gutted!!

Rubbish coaching performance

Again poor accuracy cost us

last year we set a record for lowest finals miss by % we will set a new record this year highest percentage and still miss finals.

So many horrendous errors in that last quarter it’s mind boggling

sorry for cracking into the young bloke but how the fq did Charlie spargo get drafted not having a routine for a set shot and passing the ball 30 out dead in front. Casey for you spargo. don't come back

I can proudly say I have supported this club through thick and thin over 5 decades, unfortunately most of those thin

The Pedersen selection is one of the worst I have ever seen.  He is not a backman, never was, never will be.

And yes I questioned it Thursday night too.

I'm glad I decided to follow Casey more so than Melbourne this year.

Lack of composure.

Wasted opportunity yet again

Every week the other results have gone our way we have [censored] it up.

Why should this week be any different

@Jibroni - I saw you quote me in the now locked gameday thread as well.  Not only did you follow me around like a puppy after I tried to show a bit of faith in the side, but quoting me at the end of the day is childish and embarrassing.  Yeah, I got it wrong, but I'd rather put my neck on the line in a positive manner than [censored] and moan.  At least I can get behind the club and try and support it, unlike your good self.  Cheers.

a) Poor disposal coming into I50.

b) we just don't have the depth to cover for the losses of Viney (especially), Hibberd, Melksham, Lever (especially) and even Joel Smith. The players who are covering for them are just that bit inexperienced at this level, or lacking in ability at this level.

c) overall inexperience. The poor decisions from the likes of Oliver and Spargo when they had set shots but ended up turning the ball over were but two glaring examples.

I don’t buy into he whole bath water, we’re not a good team yet.  Top teams blow us off the park with their defences setups (I don’t think we have one), spread, workrate and hard at it around the ball.  The swans cut us to shreds through the middle today.  We seriously need to review our coaches tactics

We bombed the ball inside 50. It was like Brent Moloney re-incarnated everytime we got the ball outside 50. Yeah, just bomb it in boys, that will do it. We haven't beaten a team inside the top 9. I don't know what it would take to sound out an experienced coach, but we need to do so whilst we have a quality list. There is no excuse to not lower your eyes going inside 50.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
