Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Flat track bully like Hogan.

I don't mind some of your posts but to say that about Hogan is a non-supporter comment. He's regularly double teamed and been carrying a niggling injury for over a month. He played last Saturday still feeling the effects of illness.

What's your excuse for being a [censored]?

Hogan has been a flat track bully his stats say it all. If he can play a good game in the last 3 weeks then I will change my mind, in our loses he has been poor. Needs to start holding his marks.

Barry Hall was never the same player after his shocker in the '06 GF.

Maybe if he had punched a St Kilda player in the prelim that year, he would have played better ( or just punched a St Kilda player for fun )

"Flat track bully" is a ridiculous term to apply to Hogan. To suggest that he doesn't perform against top level opponents is misleading. He may be inconsistent... but he certainly has performed against the best. As for the weekend... he had a very important hand in the goal that sealed the deal, in spite of his physical issues... never gave up... brought the ball to ground throughout the tough contests in the final qtr.

Worth remembering that Sat night was Walker's first game back from injury.

Would benefit from slimming down over summer. Less weight and bigger tank

I' m thinking it was Walker's first game back from a one week suspension for whacking some guy.

l could be wrong. I have been wrong once before.

Do we really need a thread like this ? I for one think it's insulting to call any AFL footballer who goes out their week in week out and gives there all soft, while us armchair riders set back & have pot shots.

Secondly why should we at all care about the way 2 Adelaide players go about it... We're on the verge of our 1st finals series in 12 years & were talking about this ?

Thirdly I just think it's poor taste to start a topic on opposition players like this, we've probably had dozens of players who could have been criticised over  last decade, be a little humble...

As a Dees supporter, I could care less about a team we won’t be playing again this year, let alone 2 of their players. I also don’t see the need to be disrespectful of the abilities of 2 players who have given great service to the crows. But that’s me. I’d rather worry about our own forward line and try and improve our goal to forward entry ratio.

Tex was the best goal assist player in the AFL by a mile last year, and the year following he was 2nd. He's not your standard KPF. He's a very crafty forward general that makes things happen. A player who's creativity i want to see Hogan emulate as a roaming CHF. Injury has cruelled Tex this year, pretty unfair to call an individual soft when the game plan breaks into pieces on the big dance.

We get it. Now get back under your bridge.

What's wrong with being known as flat track bullies? We should be known as flat track bullies, if we beat St.Kilda we would be. Better than we are usually chokers against bottom teams.

I was sitting in the cheer squad 6 rows back and got to have a close look at Jenkins and more significantly Oscar on Jenkins. Jenkins was rag dolling him early. Oscar couldn't match him one on one and was just knocked off his feet. Sitting there looking close up at him and Walker and Lynch and McGovern and Betts and seeing Oscar getting monstered so easily I was thinking early on this is daunting this forward line looks scary intimidating. But Oscar held Jenkins goalless and did enough in enough contests to negate his influence. Stats can be funny things. He only had 4 disposals but there's no stats for the amount of times he beat Jenkins punching the ball away and stopping him marking. They need a stat for that for stats to have any relevance for a backman's role.  Jetts only had 4 stats but you wouldn't have thought that either with his influence.

On the other hand Frosty had the physical strength to take Tex on one on one and beat him and once he took off Tex didn't even try to catch him. Frosty has a very rare X factor with height, strength and speed. His decisions, brain fades and skill can be scary but I'm surprised he hasn't been given more of a go. He played a significant role in the win. I have no doubt there's at least two games we would have won if he'd been selected.

I've been astounded that Frosty hadn't been given a run even with Lever in the team, his pace is x factor big time, closing speed, tacking, spoiling and can take a mark.

Has a bit of Micky Martin about him when he just slaps it on his boot (get out of my area style) but i can live with that.

Pretty embarrassing thread. You'd think that after the period we've been through there would be some humility in supporters. But no let's lay into 60 and 40 goals per year forwards who have achieved more than any of our current forwards have.

I am not sure any AFL player is soft but Tex is directing his enegy in the wrong direction.

Footage and commentary from "On the Couch" tonight, Tex showed trying to bully and get stuck into Max with in your face finger pointing, bumping and shaping up especially when they were 20 points up. As Roos said Max ignored it all and calmly went about his business getting 66 hit outs and another BOG while Walker was huffing and puffing and going nowhere. He didn't fire a shot in the grand final and has been below par this season

I don't know how to interpret these posts unless they're put in a best 22. Mind knocking up one for us? Just don't put Jesse at CHF.

Maybe there can be a forum for General AFL talk to keep this stuff out of the MFC forum.

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
