Footy, Seaworld style.

Looking forward to the runners coming out on Jetskis

Funny commentary as it’s pi55ing down and the ground is awash:

“Casey are kicking with both the wind and the tide at the moment...”

Commetti-esque.

Bugg looks at home in these conditions

How long has McKenna been back for? Forgotten player.

haha, Dom Tyson playing dry weather footy, in 6 inches of water.

Done well to keep them goalless for a half

Great to see Vanders back. Pat McKenna has shown a bit. Hannan too good for the 2’s

Vanders excellent in the conditions.  First game for 2 years and he had a real impact!

Best thing in the first half was Oskar Bakers clean pick up of the slippery ball and the spin away from a defender to get clean possession .

It stood out like a sore thumb as the game is so sloppy and the balls so hard to handle.

Just a tad difficult for me to comprehend the playing conditions given that I'm following the commentary from my hotel balcony in Athens where it's already 25 degrees at 8:22 am (sorry - just had to brag to someone)

In Mt Eliza it's 28 degrees. Drops 20 degrees when you hit Olivers Hill.

I think we need to kick the ball off the ground more. In those conditions there is significant advantage to it.

I sometimes think the average player is so brow beat about what they are supposed to do that they lose all ability to adapt.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
