Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Professionally approached training. The coaches had the field well organized for drills with player skills and involvement abundant.

Light duties included, Jack Viney, Jake Melksham, Joel Smith, Mitch Hannan, Christian Salem and Tom Mcdonald.

Vieing for the Jake Lever position looked to be either tall or small. Dion Johnstone, Sam Frost, Petty Harrison,  Harley Balic, Jayden Hunt,  Josh Wagner. All having exteneded training and being the last off the track. Along with Declan Keilty, Lachlan Filipovic and Sam Weideman.

The rehab squad was Cory Maynard and Dean Kent.

Simulations were well controlled clean football.

Some goal kicking practice had video been taking for later analysis.

Coaches stole the day with Max Rook absorbing the beautiful winter sun rays on his scalp with his new crew cut.

Did Cam Pedersen train? He had a nasty knock in the Casey game.

Cam was interviewed on a ‘competing’ Demons podcast on Monday. He said he was knocked out for about five seconds during the VFL game. Apparently the first time in his life he has been concussed and he has pulled up well, is training and available for selection.

Apparently Goodwin has acknowledged to Cam that he is playing very well and banging on the door. He said Goodwin had some sympathy for his situation and that there will be injuries and form lapses amongst the players and so Cam just has to keep playing well. He was the Captain of the VFL side on Sunday.

Cam also said that at this level the players aren’t as strong or fast and he thinks he has most players measure in a marking contest.

He is studying to become a teacher and sounded realistic about his contract situation joking instead of a two year deal he thought a month to month deal more likely.

He seemed like a really good bloke. I hope he gets an opportunity at the senior level, through sheer weight of form, at some time this season.

Sad.

You never know. We could have a major injury and he ends up playing in a winning GF (to be clear, I mean with us, this year)

Sounds like he also has a healthy sense of humour, as well as a realistic appreciation of where he's at...!

On the contrary, I think it's terrific.  We have a bloke who loves the club and understands the situation he is in.  It sounds like he is enjoying his footy, is ready to contribute when needed and is going places off the field as well.  Can't ask for much more than that!

Agree, you can have cover players on your list, he is one. Vince has stated he would play as long as the club lets him, even if it meant on small wage and knowing only injuries or super form get him an afl game.

Pedos form also pushes Smith and Weids to higher requirements to stay in the team.

Wonder where that leaves him as a possible Lever replacement.

Not an issue - in the context of the MFC, "light duties" means changing the light globes in the gym.

Hence, the question how many MFC footballers does it take to change a light globe? (Answer is 6)

Joel Smith executed his part admirably and is still in the mix for Monday.

I would love to see Cam play in a winning Grand Final. He is that type of a bloke.

Pedersen also said about Goodwin

  • He doesn’t have an office and sits in an area with the other coaches making it easy to have ‘chance encounters’. “Goodwin doesn’t hide away in an office”. You can have a joke with him.
  • He is unrelenting about being competitive. If you are not competitive then you won’t play in a Goodwin side. Cam said there were flashier players who could be playing but Goodwin wants good, honest contributors.
  • Goodwin is big on the what you are outside the club, the ‘higher purpose stuff”

I didn't see Tim Smith on the track. Joel  Smith was on the light duties.

Cam Pederson continued with his usual run today

So, if Tim doesn’t make it it would seem a comp between Peds and Weed, though the more I think about it could Weeds go to “CHB” as much as such position exists today?

I actually think CHB is Weids calling, looked comfortable down there last game he played if my memory is correct, took some nice marks.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
