Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Seems like Langdon to the Dees isn't as simple as it was few weeks ago if reports are true in him touring Essendon facilities.

Hoping we don't miss out on him.

He tours Essendon and sees magnificent home that they have to themselves...  Two full size ovals and great rehab facilities.

Tours Melbourne and sees Storm players in the Gym and Soccer being played outside... Takes a 10 minute walk to our totally misshapen training oval, while probably dodging the dog faeces on it. MFC sells them its great coaching team of..... um....ummmm............ " Hey Mr Langdon, you can also see the "G" from here matey... LOOK OVER THERE, thats the top of light tower 4".

We have no more hope to sell him than the Bombers, and our so-called home is a bit of a joke compared to theirs.

All comes down to the contract, both in money and length. If we can only offer the same then MFC will miss out IMO.

pepetides don't need more outside run, so much ado about nothing - due diligence to tour the facilities, and most people / experts still expect langdon to get to the dees

if they were to get him it won't help their inability to win the ball at the coalface and they - like us! - have a fairly dysfunctional forward set-up, a host of injury-prone players, and a midfield prone to bombing it to no one in particular

if they get him, so be it

Small update from the HUN:

Would already have a designated locker at Melbourne and his new jumper laid out in the changerooms. The Demons have been into Langdon all year and will resume talks with Fremantle about a deal. Will be interesting negotiations after Peter Bell got cranky with the Dees over Jesse Hogan last year.

Interesting how things are reported. If I was Peter Hill, I’d be more annoyed about the Dees circling a contracted (and important) Freo player all year rather than any trade from last year.

The Hogan / May (pick 5) deal seemed fair for both teams at the time, and this season has proved this.

Langdon and now Tomlinson are two quality players who will be nice inclusions to our list next year. Langdon's disposal is still a little shaky but its on the improve. Tomlinson isn't going to take over games by any means but he will be solid and consistant playing a role we are in need of as a marking target through the middle of the ground who can run and spread.

They have no reason to be annoyed when that's exactly what they did with Hogan, time and time again.

Riiiiight totally not talking about the same club which has been able to land Steven May and Jake Lever in previous seasons. I'm sure great facilities are nice bonus' for players, but if Gold Coast had the best facilities on planet earth im sure as hell not going there, no matter the amount of money.

Quite correct.

As much as I would normally side with @ding, we have successfully landed 2 huge targets the past 2 years. Only injuries have stopped those trades being seen as a huge coup for us.

Lets hope Mahoney continues his good work this year.

No, i wouldnt want to play at Gold Coast, but we arent comparing us v GCS are we...?

The clear point i was making was the contrast in positions between what we have to sell as far as facilities go, V what the Bombers have. Any comparison is heavily stacked in their favor.

We landed both Lever and May largely because of the size and length of contracts, which is the other point i was making. We paid dearly for both. They certainly didnt come here out of the kindness of their hearts. If we get Langdon it will most likely be because we offered more than the other suitors did.

No, we paid market rates

May is actually on less at the Dees than he was at GC17

We gave up pick 6 and handed a 27 year old a 5 year contract on big coin. If that is not paying dearly, i have a nice bridge in Sydney to sell you :)

Im not saying i  think he was a bad pickup ( i like having him in the team as long as he gets rid of the brain fade/suspensions), but we certainly didnt get a bargain. Lever trade however.................

nothing is set in stone until the paperwork has been signed off on.

Im hoping this gets done pretty easily, but the official sign and trade period hasn't started yet.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
