The paywall prevents me from reading the article but like the Winter Olympics and the Ice Cricket, I’m sure the subject will leave me cold.

Sounds like a complete overhaul starting at the top might be needed.

The first thing needed  is to get a new GM who is not one of the old boys club.

Then let him work out who stays and who needs to be bought in from the outside.

On the later I think quite a number.

What is the chances of it happening?

Low at best the OBC will not be easy to dismantle because I think it starts from the top at board level.

Got very good inside info Gill wont be around much longer... AFL trying to work out the best way to get him out without suspicion. There was more to the Simon Lethlean story then reported.

In all seriousness, that’s a massively wild claim, are you able to extrapolate, JV7??

I'v heard from 2 different sources within the AFL Gill will be "stepping down" most likely to take a role at crown.

Gil stepping down to take a role at Crown was well publicised late last year. The story came and went pretty quick though.

The crown part may have stemed from that. Who knows where it'll end up, that many deals would go down behind the scenes no'oe outside the AFL would know, Leathlan may have been paid to shut up or the AFL helped him get the St.Kilda job to keep quiet. All I know as of 2 weeks ago I was told he was leaving.

Gillon has always preferred doing a deal to the application of due process. That kind of cynical appointment was eventually going to bite the AFL.

Hmmm I see what you're getting at. Gil for PM.

Every time I hear a Gil to resign rumour I get nervous about Peter Jackson being tapped for CEO. Then I contemplate whether that might actually be a good thing, before giving up and going back to watching reruns of Mr. Robot.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
