Home viewers would not have been aware that Himmelberg kicked the last goal of the Tigers/Giants Prelim with 6 seconds remaining ,  reducing  the losing margin    to 6 goals .

Mysteriously  to particularly "Margin" punters (under or over 39 pts)  , the bottom left -hand corner score changed abruptly from 103/61 (42) to 103/67 (36) at the siren .

Ch 7 just wanted the colour and movement of huggers on the boundary and ecstatic supporters and literally took their camera eye off the ball .

I noticed. Unprofessional. I think the AFL and channel 7 are more interested in promoting themselves than a inconsequential goal.

Yes. As punter interested in that bet i noticed the same thing. Bizarre. I actually bet on Giants over 40 for the value (and the over the total match point, which was a winner) but considered the tigers over 40 as well but thought it was too short. So i was happy it snuck under.

Surely you cover the whole game. Right to the end.

It unusual that the whole game wasn't covered but betting industry is irrelevant. i don't mind a bet but the last thing i want is for the AFL industry and broadcasters to make decisions with that in mind.

Hate the fact my club relies on pokies for revenue. The sooner all clubs drop them the better our kids will be,

yES.....spot on. I to was interested in the scoreline and did notice the mark or free kick was awarded within range of scoring. I was desperately waiting for the camera to pan back for the kick. When it didnt i assumed Himmelberger didnt take the kick as it was a final and the scoreline could not effect the teams %. I actually threw the ticket away. I only noticed the scoreline when reading an article the next day! Luckily it was part of a multi and the other leg being Sydney Roosters failed to get up.

It was unprofessional of the TV coverage not to return to the action after the siren had sounded for whatever reason.

they could have easily windowed the kick for goal and still caught the other action. got the technology, use the technology

Not necessarily , there is hope ... "The other cultural issue Goyder wants to wrestle with is AFL clubs, particularly in Victoria, being increasingly reliant on income from poker machines. He has been quoted saying that he “hates” the pokies and at Wesfarmers tried without success to introduce a $1 bet limit on the poker machines the group owns through its Coles liquor business.?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
