How did she get the number? Something really stinks.

I don't wish to buy into the sad Stringer story but just for general info - 'phone calls' can be made via facebook, skype, etc to an account holder so phone numbers are not required.  Messages can also be sent on them.

For example, I have a Samsung Tablet which does not have a Sim card and I use those apps for messages, 'phone' and 'video' calls.  It accesses the internet via my home internet or 'Hot Spot' to my mobile phone when I'm out and about.

There are lots of ways of getting someone's phone number or account names if a person really wants to.

(Actually, Franco Cozzo is a great bloke. Don't think even he could sell a Stringer though.)

He will be fine a "grand sale" where PC has the situation under control - we are moving a step closer, its going to be tough to land him.

"Hey, wanna send a pic of me to my wife?"

"Pretty weird, but OK"

Seriously, why is he letting her take a nude photo?

Lots of people take nudes - for fun, excitement etc. The same reasons people do any other risky stuff. Getting plastered (or playing footy) is probably a far more dangerous activity to engage in, but we've all done that. Add to that, he's a guy who clearly has a star complex and allowing young women to paint him as a sexual god would feed that.

Most sensible people would probably be a little bit more guarded in who had their junk in soft copy, but nothing in all this has painted Stringer as somebody sensible.

How about a 4 metre pole?

The traditional saying was a "10-foot barge pole" (corresponding to 3 metres).

It's still long enough not to touch him.

How long should the pole be that we don't touch Jake Stringer with?

Start a poll?

Love the off season

Why would they want to contact Abby?  One yes, but many?  You'd think that after the first one Jake would tell the second and subsequent ones to "keep it quiet".  And wouldn't they be worried about a backlash from Jake?  I think it's pretty clear Jake, nice boy that he is, probably encouraged them to pass on the good news to Abby.

Anyway I've made my point.  Thanks for the explanation, I'm certainly not social media savvy.

Some damn fine copy there. Perhaps a banner at the footy next year:

Jakey, we have your junk in soft copy!

You don't know what young girls are like.

They would contact Abby for one of the following reasons:

1. Jealousy- she gets to come home to him and have all the nice things a WAG gets

2. Anger/Revenge because Jake didn't give them enough attention or wouldn't sleep with them again

3. Guilt at having done what they've done knowingly or unknowingly

It would be very easy to get Abby's number. She's contactable thru social media and an agent. Anyone could have emailed her asking to do some business activity as a lie to cover up. Also how easy is it to get a number from someone's phone? Very easy these days. If these girls got close enough to Jake that he'd let them muck around on their phone, they could have gotten her number without him knowing off his phone.

Gambling such an insidious part of our sport, the gambling $$. You can see why young people/players can get caught up in it when a 'hero' like Bartell decides his multi is more important than voting on the highest individual award a player can get on grand final day.

I don't see any issue. He had a multi bet that was still alive that could have netted him 350k. He made the bet a while ago and only needed Vlastuin to win the Norm Smith to take his winnings. As if you'd give that up to nominate a player for the Norm Smith. I'm sure he'll get another chance to vote in the future. I understand gambling is an issue but this 'story' is not one.

Probably not on the correct board either.

VP, I suspect you are something like my vintage (ie well over 21), and to me and many my age, the behaviour of people of Jake's age is definitely a mystery, an enigma and a facepalm. It is also clear that Jake will never join Mensa, and is probably not the sharpest tool in any known shed. Throw in sexual politics and social media, and it all seems like self-destructive horsesh!t ...

If your description is right then I'm very pleased I don't.

Anyway thanks for the feedback but for me it just doesn't pass the smell test.  Maybe I need a new nose!

Yes R&Bbeard well over 21, thankfully.

Congratulations on being the biggest [censored] talker during the off season so far - 'we are moving a step closer?'.  His manager said today it's Essendon or Geelong.  We've never, ever been in the picture, yet you've continued to trump it as often as you can.

From the AFL site...

What Stringer wants: "A strong coach," his manager Robbie D'Orazio told NAB AFL Trade Radio. Leadership on and off the field and mentors are important to the 23-year-old after a troubled period off-field.

Because the Bulldogs didn't have that right...have to laugh if he picks Essendon - a match made in heaven.

A strong coach? So obviously a coach who turns a blind eye to shithouse cultural problems and rampant drug use.

A match made in heaven, indeed.

Interesting comments - we will know more after Dogs have a chat with Watts, Stringer wont get to where he wants to go. So it appears he will have to nominate Essendon his 2nd choice and then start praying. Big question is will the Bombers get the deal done? If this goes well into the second week things could get very interesting. Im not going to count this one done until its written up on the board and I see it with my own eyes.

Where is Stringer's 1st choice?  And how do you know this information?

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
