Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Yes- and why sign him up on a contract you do not intend to honour?

This is actually very telling. Much to learn if one looks at timelines and assoc constructs.

Pretend the camera is focusing on the wrong target ;)

How about Veloci-tractor? Best of both worlds?

It's weird - I had thought Henry would love them, but I think he thinks they're stupid.

He likes planes, rockets, diggers, T-Rexes, spinosauruses, and Jackson Storm from Cars 3.

And, thankfully, the Melbourne Demons.

Fortunately, he doesn't like clubs like the Essendon Underpants or the Fremantle Farty-faces.

Are you saying that Bailey did in 2011?

I am fairly certain the consensus is he has done nothing before last season.

Can I get a spokesman from The Consensus?

Think you have missed my point.

I was answering Biff who said Roos got the best out of him.

The stats disagree with that.

I need to watch that game again.

I would not have said that silky skills were the mainstay of that gameplan.

Also Hibberd is an elite kick and Garlett and Petracca are close

You don't need to watch the game again. Richmond put the ball inside forward 50 at the earliest opportunity in the first half. There was very little precision delivery.

They played to their strengths never kicking to a one on one unless a bad match up was identified (Dusty vs Brown). The balls in were kicked to space or to large packs where Richmonds small forwards swarmed to the grounded contest.

On all occasions Townsend did whatever it took to prevent Lever intercept marking.

It was an obvious game plan and with the corridor being cut off and Rance rebounding everything the Crows back half were under seige.

Dusty spent most of the first half drawing pressure from 2 to 3 players before feeding off to outside runners.

The second half when the Crows were dead and Richmond had all the run is when the skills improved in terms of delivery but that was down to lack of pressure.

We don't have the players in our forward 50 to play this way and Watts would be obsolete in this set up

I am reading this at 12:51 Saturday the 14th of October and guess what Watts has not gone. He may well do but at present not.

But lets look on the bright side of things. Along with pussyfoot Motlop with Wingard thrown in Port will have the most devastating ball winning trio in the comp. Those three would make anyone shudder in their boots if they go to tackle them.

Jack Watts won’t survive Port Adelaide. He will get eaten alive out there

but it is plain to see that Goodwin doesn’t want him anywhere near the place.

I just wonder what REALLY happened.

I don’t believe any of the media.  Something we haven’t been privy to has happened.

Goodwin has kicked him out of Victoria for picks in the 30’s!!!

Next season is going to be very different.

I liked it when he won that game against Gold coast in 2016 when everyone was crap. Then that game he won against Collingwood, then ran back to save the same game.

But winning is so over rated in football-it's about your effort on a Monday night and your preparation for Tuesdays training session.

BTW-Jim Stynes was the worst trainer we had alongside Allen Jakovich-another pair of absolute hacks.

Like many, I suspect, I'm torn. Watched him since day 1 -  very talented, but not reliable in a contest. <Not> similar in approach to David Gower or Mark Waugh - they were hard as nails, with sublime skills.

I <do> remember his marking in defense on plenty of occasions - QG being the last.

Makes me sad that he's leaving.

There’s obviously more to the story than what we’re privy to, unfortunately we’ll most likely never find out.

Unless we kidnap and waterboard Goody.

Where are those posters who claim to get fed inside information when we need them? Perhaps they could shed some vague and obscure light on it. Paging @Grand New Flag and @Siren

I don't know what those stats tell anyone.

He played in a range of different positions and played good games 2010 onwards just not many in succession or consistency.

You are going to have a hard time convincing me that 38 goals, 6 marks, 2.5 I50s, and 10 kicks a game in 2016 is not his best return.

And that 2014-2016 was his most consistent spell in his career.

Hey Biff. I assume you're old, so maybe you can help me? Why are a bunch of the older members of Demonland so keen on Watts? I thought you'd all have had enough by now, and be beyond the seduction of golden curls?

Easy to answer that one Skuit. We more senior members ( I speak for myself) have seen many great Melbourne players over the years and Jack Watts is one of them. Goodwin is a paid servant who just hasn't got real MFC credentials. He's an Adelaide FC man born and bred. Gee, I wish we had someone like Todd Viney in charge. Someone with a Melbourne connection.

2 games is 8 points. When all the others froze and went into their shells.

How about Hannans 18 quiet games.?

Frosts dogs?

Lewis' nonentities/stupid suspension

Hogans lack of effort/nothing games

Vinces' turnovers resulting in losses

Tom Macs terrible days?

Jetts 9-12 touch games for 7 years

Gawns shockers?

Petraccas  cameos/disappearing act.

Dysons pinpoint opportunity passes?

You don't trade the most accurate set shot in the competition for a second round pick who will never win you a game.

Actually Jetta averages over 13 disposals for his career and about 15 for the last two seasons.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
