Absolutely.  Together with all, or even some of those guys, I think it would be very difficult to match up on everyone.  I think it helps Hunt in that way to have another really pacey bloke down back.

Asides from his pace, the guy has some other valuable weapons.  As we saw this year earlier against North, Frosty is a great long shot for goal on his day and I love the way he can almost come from nowhere to put a diving spoil on, a bit like Sean Wight use to.  Just needs to keep improving and putting it all together over a whole season.

...and I'd like to see Buddy try to out run Frosty!

Hopefully he'll be working on his 'skills' at Casey next year and can provide solid backup when needed.

So ask yourselves this question:  get rid of Frosty - a known quantity, tall, fearless at 1%ers, fast and athletic, and get a draft pick or alternate player, or keep him for two years and see him develop?

to me, it was a no brainer.  Some say depth, some say developing.  I say worth a punt.  Go Frosty!

Had a decent start to the year and then a hot patch mid season that coincided with our best form of the year. His kicking was better and his marking was very much improved. Then started to struggle when the midfield pressure dropped off and also struggled in the games that the wind impacted. That was probably about the time he was trying to play for a big contract as well and that's not easy for a guy of limited experience.

So I'm glad he signed on because I think the worst case scenario is he's handy depth and the best case scenario is he makes a leap and consistency comes and he's a very good player. His pace is a special attribute so if he gets the rest up to average he'll offer a lot.

No idea if we get Lever but if we do then Lever is a 3rd tall for at least the next 2 years I think. So It's going to take a battle between Frost, Oscar, Keilty,  (Tom - if not forward) and maybe another recruit to fight for the 2 key back spots. Some depth and pressure for spots will really help these guys develop instead of just a free pass in to the team each week.

Was terrible in the back half of the year. No other word to describe it, but started the year well and had made good strides. Hopefully he can recapture his early season form next year. A good re-signing though.

I don't think the MFC would have paid overs to keep him and we need a small squad of KPP's that can hold their own at AFL in case some are injured or our of form - even if Lever still joins us.

I am confused by the love for him compared to the amount of crap Tom Mac cops around here though.

All in all I'm happy he re-signed. Many here would have parted with him for Lever and if it came down to that I would have too but I think he's got upside that few others have.

I'm glad Sam is staying, but he is now 6 years into his AFL career. Whilst there are some (very) raw attributes to work with, his lack of development over the past 12 months is concerning. Maybe what we see now is all we are going to get.

For the best part of 18 weeks he was way more than a depth player.

And I can see him lining up in our back seven (one on bench) from Round 1 and his speed gives him the versatility to play on small and tall which means he can play in the same side as O-mac and Lever if required. Personally I'd be thinking that when we're not playing zone, he should be manning Jamie Elliott in Rd 1.

Not sure we were ever really in it.

I have thought all along it was only a ruse by his management to extract the maximum salary.

If he leaves the Crows I will be very surprised.

IMO at a lower level this is Dusty at Richmond all over again.

Why would leave a premiership contender for a team that has not played finals for 14 years
