Nasher wasn't making an assessment on the validity of Steve's opinion or otherwise, moreso the needless futility of you telling Steve that's "your opinion", something Steve was almost certainly aware of.

Just an update on list management.

Lamumba gone.

Hulett, Kennedy, Garland - likely to be delisted

Trengove, Vandenburg - on the edge.  Kent to return to WA??

suggest 5 go (Lamumba. Hulett. Kennedy. Garland. Vandenburg to rookie list to overcome injury). Mitch White delisted off rookie list so Vandenburg can be retained.

Joel Smith elevated.  Plus 3 draftees. Plus one trade/free agent.

Another mid with pace, a key defender and a ruckman as support.

Even the guys who look likely to be delisted on the most part have played good footy at AFL Level.

I genuinely hope at least a few of them good another opportunity

Clearly a big shake up is needed in the playing list. Delistings are crucial and there are many players I'd love to see the back of.

I will rank in order the 10 biggest list cloggers

Lumumba

Garland

Hullett

White

JKH

Trengove

Wagner

Kent

Vince

Stretch

I wouldn't classify stretch a list clogger still very young had a bad year but shown he is capable no chance of going. He is also what we need run and decent skill.the rest i agree with but unfortunatly i think Vince Kent and Wagner will still be there

He doesn't have the tools to make it as a wingman, is short, slow and has poor foot skills

Well they aren't going to clear out 10 players in 1 hit and it will depend on contract status. Garland, JKH and Stretch all have contracts for next year and beyond. Agree that Lumumba, Hullett, Trengove and White will not get new contracts.

Team selection for Casey over the next few weeks will tell us a lot

So he is fits in well at our club

H, Trengove, Hullett will be our three mandatory spots.  Kennedy not sure who he has [censored] off not to get an AFL game this year.  Vince hard call but he really struggled this year and his last kick on Saturday summed up his season.

A bit hard to delist Lumumba when he's not even on the list anymore....

I think he was still on the books hence the official delisting

They are not our problem - only Vince has played regularly this year and he has said he is happy to play games at Casey next year if he stays.

It may make people feel good to delist 10 players but it is only tweaking around the fringe and will not fix the bigger problem.

The bigger problem is a game plan which does not currently match the players we have and a huge lack of player smarts and disposal skills.  If our coach is flexible he can fix the former, the latter takes more than one season.

Keep Oliver, Viney, Jetta, Hibberd and Hogan. Jetta can be captain. The rest can take their overinflated pay packets and [censored] off

On second thoughts that is harsh on Jones. Delist and rookie

Whoever the tackling coach is. Either they dont know their craft or the players dont listen. We have been horrific all year.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
