Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Yeah makes sense.

In other news Casey should kill it tomorrow, Watts and Fritsch leading up forward, with King and Spencer to chop out, and Frosty, Dec and Hutchins commanding down back, and at home.

Look for a big win.

Spencil is no certainty to play at this stage

Spencer is listed as out, along with Joel Smith

Only if you look at the last game. Over the last 3 or so games, that's not the case, Watts has been poor, Salem has been so-so.

If Hunt and Garland have a run of games where they fail to have much impact, then they would presumably meet the same fate. Goodwin and co. have shown already that they'll back players and support them in the short term, but that that support has its limits.

Salem and Frost not listed with Casey. Are they injured? Why would you be " omitted " and not played at Casey to find form?

What a hectic week of travel but thankfully  I've just boarded the tin pigeon in Sydney heading down to Melbourne town and I'm getting pretty excited about seeing only my 3rd H&A game for the year.

Essendon win

Eagles win

Saints ?

I only grace you with my presence a few times each year so don't disappoint me Dee's.

Goodwins not going to die wondering. You got to hand it to the guy. He doesn't lack for courage.

Agree very ballsy of Goodwin to make this call.

Look when Melbourne don't do well Watts cops it but over the past 3 weeks he hasnt been great. Yes he isnt the only one but last week he didnt register a kick in the 1st half. From watching over the past 3 weeks his tackling pressure wasnt there, he dropped easy marks and he was trying to take them stretching out the 1 arm.

This is his 8th season not his 2nd or 3rd. He got dropped in the pre season for form and attitude. I know it's his nature to be calm and laid back but sometimes we need more from him.

Anyway if we lose Goodwin will have everyone gunning for him but I admire his stance. Personally I would have given him 1 more week but anyway this is why Im not the coach. Bit disappointed Maynard got dropped. I thought he showed something to give him another week.

I'd like to see Maxy play forward a bit more on sunday.

Happy to see Brayshaw back in. Gee I hope he goes well and obviously do not want to see him get any head knocks.

In: J.Wagner, A.Brayshaw, S.Weideman, M.Hannan
Out: S.Frost, C.Salem, J.Watts, C.Maynard

Not disgusted by these changes, but including Wagner (at Salem's expense?) surprises me. Looked off the grade in his last match.

Frost has improved out of site this year but has been loose. If T-Mac goes back and Weideman, Pederson and Hannan are used as the main targets in the 50 I can see a reasonable structure to play with.

To say Weideman will play better than Watts is a big call by Goodwin, but given Hogan isn't in the side Sam can play as the #1 target in the 50; a role which he has been playing for Casey and arguably a role which Watts is not suited to.

Goodwin isn't going to die wondering!

So underwhelmed by these ins. Brayshaw back too early, Weideman not ready, Wagner not up to it. Hannan deserves his spot but was very quiet in his last outing.

Nervous about the selected side's ability to move the ball effectively and especially the ability to score if Tom McDonald has to go back to cover Frost.

Right... I assumed Casey boys would still be at training, even if just for skills.

Sigh..

I agree, not too impressed or overwhelmed by the ins.

Brayshaw- is this a bit early? He had one great game, was building into form prior to this

Weids- isn't dominating VFL footy, how is he going to contribute to the AFL team? Watts isn't playing great but does he need a few more games to get into form?

Wagner- plays well at VFL level but at AFL level he appears too slow with decision making and his disposal is questionable at best. Turns it over by foot which is supposedly a strength?

For Hannan i feel he is much more important in our forward line than in our midfield. I hope that his week off gives him some rest and he is invigorated for the next few weeks. His move to the midfield has been terrible, doesn't get his hands on the ball, doesn't contribute with his run and can't use his marking abilities. At the start of the year he looked great and kicked important goals which we have been suffering from recently.

You should just be underwhelmed by how we have gone the last 2 weeks.  They needed to make a couple of changes and the blokes they dropped mainly Watts and Frost have not been going well enough.

Hopefully McDonald goes back and gives us a bit more stability.

Carlisle will be doing handstands in his sleep knowing the forward line he will be against on Sunday. Even that pathetic Brown will get a couple of kicks. Roberton will become brownlow favourite with all the free disposals he will get. I do not understand our selectors.

Just on Watts, He has had a bulging disc in his back the last few weeks, which has severely hampered him (as it would anyone).

Hence why he isn't covering the ground as well and therefore playing like shizen.

If JW is limited by a bulging disc then surely he will get better quicker resting rather than playing at Casey.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
