Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

.Lets hope the trade gets done tomorow. We usually do not spend to much time pushing peanuts around the trade table.

I did not realise Brown's stats compared so well against Cameron. Thanks Demonland for posting them.

The Cats are copying the Tigers recruitment of Lynch hoping  Cameron will be the difference. Time will tell.

Could say we're also hoping for that result... ;)

I agree that 26 and 43 for Brown and something later coming back our way.

If the club does that we will continue to be the laughing stock of the AFL.  North Melbourne don't want him, he wanted to stay at North but they are kicking him out to the curb.  Big question marks over his knee and his ability to return to his best form.  Pick 43 should be our offer but most likely we will have to give up pick 31 or 33.  Brown is a fire sale from North just like TMac will be for us, the only difference is Brown is out of contract and has a buyer, TMac has a contract and doesn't have a buyer at this stage.

Very good summary. Pick 33 is as far as we should be willing to pay. Kangas are getting rid of Brown. They actually have little room to argue.

We wanted Hogan gone and got Picks 6/27

we wanted Watts gone and got pick 31

and we’d be a laughing stock if we got Brown for 26 and 43? Turn it up

sure we didn’t go as public with it as North have done. We desperately need Brown as we have no plan B and if we get him for a second round pick Even 26 it will be steal!

Covered ad nauseum in this thread.
He's out of contract.
He had a falling out with North over personal issues relating to death of his unborn child and subsequent treatment where he was asked to leave his grieving wife and other baby to play.
He was made to play with knee soreness, which caused further injury.
This is about Brown walking out on North, not the other way around. They've essentially thrown their arms up and said yep no contract, sour relationship, cya later!

He already passed Melbourne FC medical, so the one injury he's had in his entire career has been ticked off as not an ongoing issue.

If we get him for a 2nd rounder, it'll be one of the best trading coupes this century. We should be going as hard as possible to get him.

He has nominated to be a Demon player. He's committed. We have satisfied the requirements for injury and 'soreness' evaluation and these are history. We must do it - big time - no delays. If we do not, some other furry club will - at any cost and the meat in the sandwich will be lost.

I would've thought trading Ben Brown for pick 26 is more than commensurate for a player that's kicked 10 goal in a game of footy, and one of the leading goal kickers of the last few years.

Not sure we have to be greedy and offer up 33 and nothing else.

Question? Who is the Last MFC Player to kick 10 GOALS in a Game??

What an era the early 90s were. 9 of the highest 13 scoring shots for a forward came in these few years. Someone was kicking 10 goals every other week. The game was absolutely incredible to watch.

Every other sport has found a way for forwards/scorers to score more heavily.. soccer, nfl, cricket since then. Obviously more goals isnt necessarily always more exciting, but yea, um it was.

Maybe the AFL should have a kpi around each round needing a 10 goal by one forward game :)

it’s all fun and games until it’s Kent Kingsley kicking 10.11 against us

Looks like North are playing hard ball.  Reports are they have rejected Geelong's offer of #38 for Higgins.  Given he wouldn't be on high $, its a 2 year contract and his age, I thought that offer quite reasonable.   Hawks have let equivalent players go for picks #60+.

May not bode well for what we have to trade for Brown.   Hopefully, Mahoney doesn't blink.

We can let them know we are doing them a favour as we have TMac on the books already....

The deal will get done. You can't effectively push a guy out of your club and when you have a chance to trade him act like he's a required player. It's not like he will stay at North if a deal isn't done. Higgins is a completely different scenario because North aren't pushing him out.

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim
