daniher is just dominant, but other than his aerial dominance they're struggling to manufacture goalkicking options

At least they've perfected the art of "if you have a gun key forward who can mark, kick it to them!"

It seems to result in goals, which helps win games (unlike handballing in circles through the midfield until you get tackled and turn it over).

Dogs winning AND knocking down the Bombers percentage beneath ours would be a small consolation prize for us (admittedly we've already had a good run with results -- Saints choking and Hawks beating Sydney). Shame the Suns/Blues couldn't knock off the Tigers/Cats.

Crows/Pies result is pretty irrelevant. Pies won't play finals and Adelaide are already pretty safe in 1st.

Dogs almost home

at least there is something good out of this weekend

Was just thinking the same thing...about the only footy I've enjoyed this weekend. Couldn't happen to a better club.

Doggies helped us out here by beating Essendrug.

Now if the Lions can keep their loss to the Eagles under 70 points, we will finish the round in 7th spot.

Gee it's going to be tight. Not sure I can handle it. We really need to lift. Bulldogs and Hawks both coming home strong. Saints are still with a sniff. It's a bad time of year to be playing average football. We need to jump out of this slump. We're 1-3 in the past month. Need to finish this forthcoming month 3-1 at the least imo.

Thanks to Goddard's idiocy the Essendon percentage is now lower than ours. Every little morsel helps with such a tight finals race.

On a side note Dogs coming back to 2016 form today. Could cause problems if they make finals.

Goddard, what a [censored]

What did he do? Happy to see the dogs get up. Makes me a bit happier to see the bummers lose.

Gee if the crows lose today question marks will be asked about them winning a GF on the G. They are missing Betts terribly with his crumbing and Collingwood have a lot of open space to run into.

Crows tanking

Surely it's too late for the Pies to make a finals run. Aren't they on 7 wins? So they need to win every game from here and have a superior percentage than any other 12 win team?

I'll be [censored] myself if we're both on 11 wins come round 23.

Bizarre season.

Crows look flat. Just like we did. Playing similarly poorly. Anyone else and we lose by 10+ goals yesterday. I think both are still feel the effect of playing in Darwin. Both teams came up against top 8 sides and played hard, contested football. We'll bounce back next week.

Geez we really blew a great opportunity yesterday....

Yep, increasingly looks like a win yesterday would've cemented us in finals. Now we need to win 3 out of 4 to guarantee anything.

The last thing we needed in this last month is the added pressure of [censored] up our most successful season in a decade. Next week is crucial, we can't just rely on other results anymore.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
