I have to admit i am warming to Melsham for his lock down work and goal kicking.

Hannan is the real bonus to us

ANB was BOG in 1st half with the way he competed and DELIVERED.

Even though Jack had a durty day, when it it was all hands on deck he di somther a clearance whic shws that the whole side was committeed to kepp at it. In the past heas have dropped and intensity waned, but not now it seems. Terrific sign.

Should build that statue for Jetta and put it 30 m from goal just to remind us how many times he has competed and won in that crucial area, but which does not show up in stats sheet.

If only Tyson and Hunt would lower their eyes somtimes.

Plugger became Royce today just show his versatility.  Has a brilliant tank and heart.

Very impressed with Hogan's ground work when the ball went to ground at contests. Won it well and rewarded with three goals. Great to see him improve this aspect of his game.

You obviously have a poor interpretation of the game and a lack of understanding of forwards. Watts efforts were fine. He was bloody rusty, don't get me won't, which caused him to fumbled and drop a mark or two, but his defensive pressure and getting to contests was the same all year. He's not a contested marking beast and isn't going to clunk them down the line, that's what Tmac is for.

I bet you also think Tyson played well, which would disqualify  my argument, but you're also probably one of those supporters who didn't notice how many times he turned it over (more than usual) due to his lack of game time.

Concerned about Maxxy, I don't know if it's just fitness or what but around the ground in (from what I saw) he was ineffective. Rucking at least seemed better though. 

Oliver looking sore after the siren isn't good either, hopefully it's just cramp or a corkey.

Gawn rolled his ankle apparently, was off for much of the 2nd half.

if I could have got my hands around his neck I would have strangled him!  Sees the ball.  Wins the ball. Turns the ball over. Repeatedly.

But if I may indulge myself, I'm not sure I have ever seen a more insipid milestone game than the one from Jack Watts today.

Jack was rusty which is understandable. So was Max when he first came back and was outstanding in the first half today until he got injured. 

It just shows how important he is to us as we dominated completely a top 4 side for two quarters when he was on song.

Jack Watts will be too in the next couple of weeks. He is a gun.

It's how poor form manifests itself for Jack.  His intensity goes down and his attack drops.  When Hogan is out of form, he drops marks, shanks kicks and sulks.  Jack Viney when out of form tries to break a tackle every time he gets the ball.  An out of form Nathan Jones gets all his kicks from running around behind other players and hoofing it forward. Lesser players just don't get near the ball when out of form.  All players react and respond differently.

Watts looked out of touch today, but I don't consider it any more contemptible than any other player who has been out of the game and takes a while to get in the groove.  I think your criticism is excessive and unwarranted.

I sat behind the Punt Rd goals and that is exactly what I saw from Lewis.

Leadership at its finest in the last quarter, hence the reason the game was played in our front half for the majority.

What have you seen from Watts in the last couple of years would indicate that he would be happy with that return?

Anyone else and you might say - "Jeez, [player] was down on his return, there is a plus once he regains form."

 

As for the game, Tyson gets his hands on it so much I don't care that he gives us 4 disastrous clangers a game - bad players don't get that much footy. Oliver needs to refine his instincts but that will come - he is 20... 20!

Hibberd and Jetta and Frost and Hunt and Salem...and the comic relief Oscar - they are formidable!

Still disagree that his game today was anything less than unacceptable.

By your thoughts, he should not be played, if returning from injury during the finals.

We need better than than from Jack. He is capable of much more.
