Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Ryder had his ankle strapped after fulltime last week. looks like hell get up. Max will have his work cut out.

Yes, big task for Max. We know T.Mac has great endurance, is there a possibility he spends more time in the ruck and runs with Ryder around the ground?

Am thinking that Port will be somewhat confused with this side. Watching our tapes of the last month or so won't help them a lot...

Trengove selection makes sense. Why bring in a guy, that went through all he has in the past few years with confidence issues stemming from early captaincy and injuries, when half the side (and most of the midfield) are out of the team? Basically throwing him to the wolfs again with his career on the line. He'd have the limelight completely on him, with expectations that he'd have to carry the midfield in his first game back.

I've got no doubt Goodwin's wanted him in the side the past few weeks. Goodwin noted "he's been in terrific form". I believe the past few weeks Goodwin's had to throw the lines in about Trengove being close and having to "work on things" as an excuse to avoid the real reason for Trengove's absence during the past few weeks of injuries to the team.

This week in fact is the best possible time for Trengove to come in. We have our A grade midfielders back, which takes away the spotlight and reliance on Jack to HAVE to have a good game. This takes so much pressure off of him. Now he comes in knowing he doesn't have to be the star or the leader, but just play his role and be part of the group.

No doubt he'll still be playing for a new contract, but this way the circumstances are tailored in his favour.

Absolutely the right call by Goodwin and co.

I like your thinking...

The big test will be how Plugger and Hogan go in the same forward line.

Hopefully they will keep well out of each others way most of the day........and I hope that Jesse plays high / mid and Tom deep.

Well yes, without Pedersen I mean who plays taller than Watts.

Which reminds me, I think we owe Pedersen a great debt of gratitude for what he has done through that very difficult period mid season.  He stood up and certainlyhelped us to a few wins.

However it looks difficult to find a place for him in our top 22 - but a very handy 23-28th man.

How to make an otherwise very long Thursday awesome - you read not only that:

- trengove is back

- that watts is back for his 150th; but

- viney is back

- and so is Salem; and to top it all

- so is Tyson!

Makes the craving for the weekend even keener, may have to have a Thursday tipple to celebrate.

confrats trenners - so good to see you get a crack.

By golly, it's hard not to be buoyed by those ins. Five top-ten draft-picks, a few hundred games of added experience. Imagine how the boys must be feeling? Throw in Trenners finally cracking the team, Watts' 150th, Brayshaw's return to the field, and our indigenous strip getting its MCG debut, and we shouldn't be wanting for any extra feel-good inspiration.

I for one am happy for Jack, though I really did think that the game had passed him by.

I do  look forward to the commentators clarifying Jackson and Jack Trengove for 120minutes +

1. Chris Donlon

Ugh!  Two of my least favourite three

No doubt have been told by the AFL to take an extra whistle and take no prisoners from that ruffian, thug, jaw busting team ...The Melbourne Demons.

Will be interesting to see how they match up on Port's defenders.

You'd think maybe:

Hogan v Jonas

McDonald v Clurey

Watts v Austin/Broadbent.

Playing in the VFL, no? It's a tight group, and the boys will be chuffed for Gus making his return. Might even get a few extras down to watch.

Ah i see....carry on..

Psychologists  all agree the best way to beat grief is by kicking multiple goals for the MFC.

Not all of them.

Some of them think Kardinia park is a better place to kick goals.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
