Who's the 'partner' pub these days ?

That i have to ask shows how often I'd get there !!

Was the "Duke" ...now ?

Sporting Globe this year. Apparently went off during the Eagles game.

Would do very nicely for a finals celebration.

Otherwise social clubs aren't a thing any more.

I will probably have a bag.

i hope you are correct but half a century of experience has taught to keep your expectations in check.

If we win the grannie, can you please let me know where I can find one of those bags Mr. Old?

Forward planning, I think it will form a central component to my celebrations unwinding nicely.

Chook, ever seen the movie "Go Trabi Go!" The Osties DO (or did) have a sense of humour after all.

Chook that is straight from the advertising brochure, they were worse than that.

The Morris Leyland Centre ?

in other "News"....

Brad Scott might be abandoning his rebuild at Norf to do a full Reno/block of units at Collingwood.

What a shambles of a club.

They look good sipping lattes in Middle Park but Pert and Eddie have ruined the joint.

Lost Vic Park

Sacked a flag coach/split the flag team

Footy staff hate it

Players hate it.

Hope they stay on

I much prefer the Duke. Sporting Globe in Moonee Ponds is okay, but the food is average and you get an undesirable crowd there sometimes. Not sure what the Richmond one is like. Duke was great because it's central, and after Melbourne wins they had a free keg for Melbourne members. Had many a big night there from 2015-2016. I won't be rushing out to Sporting Globe anytime soon. Wish they kept it a CBD pub.

So who is going to "the Sporting Globe" this Saurday night?

Hope it's not too 'saur' on Saturday Night !! ^_^

The Sporting Globe has hosted the last two interstate games, Gold Coast and West Coast, and they've been enormous nights there, been to both. It's the next best thing to a social club, as you get to share the euphoria of a win, or the emotional roller coaster of a loss, with like mindeds. The beer selection there is awful (they did have David Neitzs' beer, Brewmanity Social Beast on for the first game but not the 2nd) but members do get 20% off drink prices so that helps parlay the indifferent range.

Why can't we have a social club at the MCG? The filth have a section it even had their emblem out the front, this was about 5 years ago now. I felt sick when i saw it, it's our home ground not theirs.

This a very pressing issue to be addressed now .

When we win the flag where the hell do we go to celebrate the the occasion ?

The MCC in their wisdom will shut their joint up. MFC a division of the MCC as long as they like it until then !

After 5pm what happens next , Do we just wander down to Gosche's paddock or Aami and go  " Go Dees "

Where the hell do we turn up on sunday to celebrate our flag ?

Sadly I don't think the MFC's got the ability to address.

If you think I'm getting ahead of myself then look back in September !

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
