Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Temple walkabout next to Temple station would be showing it. Not too far away from Oxford Street and it's nice along the river there.

If not, you can always sign up to watchafl for a week and watch on laptop/ipad. Used it for every game this year and works great.

Cheers. I've sent them an email to see if they'll show the game.

I will watch the replay on watchafl but I won't have a chance to sit and watch the whole thing live. Hopefully I can catch the second half over lunch.

It's been a few years but any of the Walkabouts may have it on, check with the one you'll be closest to prior too though. Temple is probs the "best" of them only due to its location on a fine summers day.

Thanks. Weather looks like it'll be great, especially by London standards! I've been to London maybe 20 times in my life and experienced clear skies probably 3 of those times. Hopefully this is going to be the 4th, and a good omen that the sun will shine on the Dees that day...

I said at the start of the year that once Stretch gains some more confidence he'll become a solid citizen in our team. But I'm really not so confident myself anymore that he can make it in our set-up.

His confidence hasn't come, but I think it's due to the speed we're trying to move the ball. Seems to be a tad slow in decision-making and off the first step - also doesn't have the strength to shrug contact. And it's leading to fumbles.

It's hard to pin-down, but there's something about his positioning or initial movement on receiving the ball - like he's always pointed in the wrong direction or can't pivot tight or evades to the indirect space. Ben Kennedy does this far better - snatching the ball in close from under or around of a pack and forging a direct line to goal. Disposal an issue but so it is with the MFC.

I think Billy is a decent ball player, but perhaps not best suited for Goodwin's Demons.

In: BenKen

Out: Stretch

Gawn, Smith and Hoges evidently underdone but to go again. Pedo and Gawn may have to swap roles until Gawn gets his body right. Kent rusty - but somehow headed in the right direction. Wagner a big improvement on last week, and much better disposal than earlier in the season.

Although it's super-clear we're hurting with injuries - smashed in the clearances with Jones, Jack and Dom out, and lacking the delivery class of Watts and Salem, we beat Adelaide last time through pressure not class. And we have the scraggers and hustlers in place. Watts and Tyson to save themselves a flight and get super-fit and fresh for Port at home.

Go Dees.

I'd reiterate what others have said about walkabout in temple being option 1 for near oxford st etc . Ive lived in London since 2015 and to be honest only stream the games  because usually im just waking up as the 2nd half starts!

Is this the week to give Gawn a rest?  He is clearly still getting his touch back after a long layoff and struggling to run out the games.  Surely we should be erring on the side of caution.  We need him firing for the Port Adelaide game in 2 weeks and the subsequent run to the finals. Can't see much good will come of putting his 208cm frame in a plane seat to Darwin and then play an exhausting game in tropical humidity.

We could give Spencer a run, who will handle the humidity as he grew up in Townsville.

If Max needs a rest, let him spend some time in the goal square. Spencer tries hard but is a VFL player.

As many have said Tyson & Watts hopefully both fit & probably two of Stretch, Pedersen, Kent & Smith out.

Mark Williams made a classic comment on the radio last week, along the lines as a coach you hold the line "one man out gives an opportunity for someone else to step up, play the team brand", but said the reality is you really miss the class players, as the skills of players 23 - 30 on the list just aren't up to your top 10 players, and it really impacts your link play and creativity, even if the effort can be matched.

Just think Watts back in, almost always puts the ball to good use, kicking or creating many goals, versus the guys on the edge of selection who just aren't as good.

Demons have done a great job getting over the Weagles & Blues, while well under strength and if we can win one of the next three would be really good, two or more would be terrific. Just need to stay near the 8 and get all of our best players back and fit. Then we can look forward to finals with some hope for a win or two!

Unfortunately I emailed them and they said it's not being shown.

Guess I'll just follow the scores online and watch the replay when I get back to the hotel at night, assuming it's worth watching.

I'm pretty sure there's an Aussie bar near Oxford Street, type it in and it should come up.

Absolutely agree. Looked way off the pace. Cannot afford to have players "finding form" in the ones, especially at this crucial stage of the season. Back to Casey

Some of you really do need to put that drink or the extra strong cigarette down before you post, you look silly

Hogan played his role and allowed Tommy Mc the luxury of one on one contests

I thought the same thing last night but after watching the replay he "just needed a run" and im confident he will improve more next week, he is too good a player not too. If Hartigan returns for Adelaide then I think having three talls (Hogs, Mac and Pedo) roaming up forward can work. Darwin is a small gound and covering the ground wont be as big an issue, its only the humidity we need to be concerned with.

Hartigan won't be returning against us

Tyson and Watts will come back in if fit. And Kennedy is worth considering.

Possible omissions on form are Kent, Smith and Stretch. However, I worry about going too tall in Darwin. It is going to be hot and steamy and is usually very slippery.

So while I like Pedersen,  I would strongly consider leaving him out this week even if Watts is not fit. And while he was down last week, I don't think we can leave Hogan out on form.

I would go Ins: Tyson and Watts and Outs: Smith and Pedersen. Lewis to go to the backline for Smith, and Tyson into the midfield.

He said he was hoping for a Port return but in reality it sounded as though he had no idea when he's back.

I would say best case scenario would be a return against GWS in round 20, as they initially said it was 4-6 weeks on the sidelines.

I'm fully expecting the AFL website to make a headline later this arvo - "VINEY AIMING FOR AN INCREDIBLE RETURN V'S PORT".

I reckon they're not being transparent with Watts. I'm buying into the rumour that he tore his hammy at training before either the West Coast game or Sydney game. I wouldn't be surprised if he's out for a further 2-3 weeks.

Would think he might be back for the north game. That's 4 weeks since surgery.

picket I think you have had  a long lunch.

The guy is a VFL talent, there is a reason he has not been selected for effectively a season.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
