Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Go watch the Godwin presses on the afl website. He is Spot on.

He just continues to impress, couldn't have put down the idiotic questions about culture and the Oliver crowd 'nothing' any better, particularly as I would've told those reporters to go f*** themselves.

Will be good to see Gawn hit form again. His match today was not anywhere near his usual high standard.

He took a pack mark in the third quarter which reminded me of his good days.

Our midfield seemed to get on top in the second quarter at least at centre clearances but we had difficulty finding forward targets.

Looking forward to the replay so I can understand some of those umpiring decisions in the last quarter. Starnge to say the least.

Anyone know how to break down free kicks quarter by quarter? Also, who said Watts will be back next week? I suspect he'll be 3 to 4 from the pre-swans training session aggravation (a re-tear), so will miss the next 2 at least.

The cartoon big footy page has the stats quarter by quarter as the first or second post

We've moved him there out of necessity, but he's really enjoying his footy and he's got some of the best hands at the club. I think we've pulled a new Neitz out of the bag (good defender turned forward).

He's looking very much at home there.

I hope I don't regret saying this, but TMac is the 'straightest' kick for goal I've seen in years. No curve, fade, or slice, he basically splits the middle off the boot almost (have to put that in to avoid the moz) every time. With Watts, easily the best kicks for goal at the club.

Earlier in the year he was very uncertain in front of goal but boy that has changed (I too hope I'm not putting the moz on). He seems to have a very set and clean routine that's just working a treat.

Which is totally amazing given some of his kicks out of the back line!!!

At the end of the day we got the 4 points and with our depleted midfield a good win. They outplayed us but we were able to win. How often could we have won playing poorly over the last ten years. We can beat Adelaide next week if we get watts and tyson back. Their midfield isn't that good.

I want to recognize Carlton here - yes I know its all about us but they have some players and they aren't easy beats. Our win is as good as the opponent and they were a challenge.

Casboult - big unit great hands, Gibbs / Murphy - busy, Silvagni, Curnow, Krueser marks around the game - seriously we won ugly and our analysis (in most games) doesn't recognize opponents. They have some players there - I never felt they would open us up on the rebound - credit to our defensive running perhaps - I also thought that Brendon Bolton spoke well on the defeat arguing that in adversity comes learnings - something we know only too well. Well done Carlton in defeat!

Wagner???? You can't be serious? Two massive goals, and possibly his best game!!!

Very serious.

He was Johnny on the spot for 1 of the goals, the other was not bad granted.

But, he turns the ball over FAR too often, and is below par when defending an opponent side by side. he has played much better games than today.

Salem cant come back quick enough for me.

This was on the news bulletin straight after the game.

Oliver, it doesn't matter what you did or didn't say please just learn to STFU.

What makes Oliver good is his mongrel. He should not change.

Why would anyone waste their time posting an ode to Carlton on this site?

Makes no sense.

Really like your comments. Games are so close, but your comments recognise that there are two sides in the contest. The Blues are on their way up.  Well played. They could have won and we could have lost. We know enough about losing to recognise that there is valour in defeat.

Christian Petracca was another who slipped under the radar today, but he collected 25 possessions and 18 of these were contested as well.  I like the fact that he can get his hands dirty and not just stick to doing the flashy things.  He was in plenty today and shot out some handballs that set up a few of our goals.  He continues to come of age.

That's surprising I didn't notice him all that much but was sitting on the southern stand wing so may have missed a bit of the in and under stuff he did on the northern side.

I don't know whose idea it was but that sideways kick to Lewis at the end was pure genious.  A shot at goal and a miss gives them the chance to run down the other end and kick a goal.  Instead Lewis could take another 30 seconds off the clock.

Well choreographed by Lewis, NIDA would be proud...

Grace is one thing-I knew this game would be a slog but we were robbed of Hunts goal and that high tackle paid against was another.

Murphys goal was a gift.

We earned the win with a depleted team and a solid effort.

I wish Carlton more failure and an extended stay at the bottom, then I hope their emerging stars get poached.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
