I was wrong.

Oliver was not fired up by last week's events.

Will struggle to find a best 6 for us !!

Strange selections this week are hurting -  White a liability, Wagner suspect at this level and because we didn't select Kent or JHK as a pressure forward we've killed hunts game too.

Hannan had to kick that goal earlier in the quarter, we kick that and the momentum is with us and momentum is a funny thing in sport.

Sydney are running and murdering us in every way possible. The boys need to dig deep to stop this from blowing out.

With seventy extra disposals, it is hard to see what Goody can conjure up in the final quarter? ?

Our endeavour has been very good but we've really left 2nd gear. Still think we're in it but without Viney it's simply impossible. Lots of passengers tonight unfortunately.

1 goal to 7 since quarter time.

Comprehensively outplayed.

Comprehensively stuffed.

I guess it had to come sometime.

Time to lock down and consider next week, if we have any fit players.

We absolutely can't get blown away here in the last quarter. This loss is not a deal breaker for top 4, but it almost is if we get smashed. Stay with them Dees, and make it respectable.

2 out of 3 in this horror patch ain't bad, so keep your heads up.

Has the victim blaming got to Oliver? Maybe he should go around deliberately elbow players in the head like Schofield instaed.

Dees nack to earth tonight.

In a way....good

This IS whete we really are...now build from this...adjustblist from this...[censored] off the useless from this.

Lessons to learn tonight.

2017 not our year

..2018 onwards ? Well ..maybe :)

Pathetic 5 goals up to 3/4 time.  That's what tom kicked on his own last wk. Swans just all over us tonight.  Disappointed but back to reality. At least the premiership talk will die down.

Any news on Viney?

Foot.  Hope it is nothing serious, as too many foot injuries are.

Not yet. Just that it's his foot.

They showed video of him about to lead the boys back upstairs at half time.

Something happened on the way back up.

Poor coaching tonight, lost it at selection table by not playing 2 of JKH Kent or BenKen. Also, Goody didn't start him on the ground and he didn't come on until half way through first

Obviously the coaches need to maintain a positive attitude with the players but I agree with this as well. We can't let it be a humiliation otherwise it could dent the confidence in our players.

How we respond for the last quarter could tell the story of how we back it up next week.

It's an afl draw, it's his job to keep our guys in tip top shape regardless of the draw.

He does keep them in top shape.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
