Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Saints now have a sniff of finals, next week is the first elimination final of the year. Whoever loses I can't see making it.

This is actually a chance to once and for all stop supporters saying "Here we go again".

Make finals from here and we gain the respect of the footy world as well as from many wavering supporters. There would also be the undeniable side effect of forcing good players to at least consider us as a viable destination.

Fail to make it (especially if we capitulate like we did in the final 2 games last year) and it will reinforce the general football-world view that we are a nothing club represented by a nothing team.

Over to the players.

Have to put the last 2 weeks behind us.

If we make the finals we deserved to get there, who cares who we lost to along the way or how we got there? Every team has bad losses during the season.  We have the talent do to damage in September.

When team selection comes out on the Thursday night for the Elimination final, is anyone here going to give a [censored] we lost to North twice? No. We will be on cloud nine ready to play our first final in 11 years.

Food for thought, all this discussion re: Injuries, if Richmond had a similar stretch of run with injuries to us would the be in the 4 let alone the 8?? Had the lost key personal for reasonable stretches of the season would they be where they are????.... I tend to think not. If They Lost Cotchin, Martin, Rance, Nankervis, say Houli would they be exploited???........I Tend to think so.

Makes sense. AFL gave Essendon the easiest draw in the competition because they reward clubs who run clandestine drugs programs and use their players as pharmaceutical guinea pigs.

The other 3 clubs got harder draws because we finished higher. It's only fair.

It's funny looking at Port Adelaide, they may be pretenders against teams who are decent but they have got the job done just about every time against the teams they should beat.

We need to get there, I'm sick of us losing games we should win. It's the reason we've got ourselves in such a stupidly precarious position.

Exactly. Knocking on the door of top 4 all season purely by winning the teams beneath them. They've been very consistent in this regard.

Just imagine if we'd done the same AND still managed to get the huge scalps we did? Upsetting.

If we can beat the Saints then we should then account for Brisbane.  The Pies game then looms large with that mob running into a bit of form.  13 wins should secure us a spot but we'll still need 1 loss from each of the Eagles & Dons (or beat them both out on percentage)

The Crows should beat Essendon next week but they might be in a position where they can rest their good players (tank) in round 23 against the Eagles.  The Bulldogs tanked their round 23 game against Freo last season.

Looking ahead it wouldn't be a bad thing if the Pies reappointed Buckley in the next week or so.  The Pies under Buckley are terribly inconsistent.  Whilst he's coaching for his football coaching career they are dangerous.

I reckon we'll turn our form around but we now need a bit of help (elsewhere) to make the finals.

Giants will beat Eagles at Spotless stadium. There won't be Nic Nat out there kicking a goal with 5 seconds left.

I wish I shared your view on the Giants but they're not always switched on either - that's their main issue as they've got plenty of talent.

The optimist in me believes that if we win our last 3, we're in.

Lose next week and we're almost certainly done.

Eagles can't win away let alone top of the ladder giants. No chance of them winning

That's it, next week is the week. We win I feel confident of finals, lose and I reckon it's close to over.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
