When the inferior Jetta missed that goal was when I started to think, hmmm. Just had that feel to it.

The effort that went in to the last goal was immense. It goes down on the score sheet to PMac, but it had the blood and sweat from 22 of them. They were tired and injured, but they just kept grinding it forward with everything they had. I think it's the sheer guts of it that has made me giddy.

Anyone think Viney will get a week?

I thought that initially, but ball was in play and I think he had eyes on it. But who knows with this MRP.

Someone put the final two minutes of the QB win on YouTube with various radio stations on commentary, instead of the TV.

Would love someone to get the Perth-based radio commentary into that video from tonight's game.

He might miss next week through injury, but not suspension.

He was contesting the ball and it was an accident. Dale Thomas wasn't suspended for doing the same thing.

An obviously important match to win from a ladder/season perspective, but also so important from an exposure/sponsorship/etc. perspective.

Prime time Saturday night game, leading into our first Friday night game in 5 years. We should expect 50,000+ at the G next week and some good ratings, which really helps with holding/obtaining sponsorship and getting a better fixture next year.

SHOULD not but probably will - MRP after all need to send a message, and don't really know what that message is

Had his eyes on the ball in a marking contest clash - no case to answer.

I genuinely don't think I'm overstating it by saying that was the most significant win for this club in over a decade. Several star players missing, key in game injuries, 6 day break, interstate trip where we haven't won in 15 years, final quarter (and very late) deficit... HUGE amount of grit, flair and mental toughness showed by the boys. This team has officially arrived.

[censored] I love this club.

We were under-manned and down and out but willed across the line. Unbelievable belief, guts and courage!  My red and blue heart is close to bursting outside my chest tonight!

Come Eagles and umpires

Please heed the call
Don't give out free kicks and
Don't dive on the ball
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
The Demon inside
That's awaking.
It'll shake up the Finals
And make the Top Four
For the times they are a-changin'.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
