Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Yep know more next week

We can win them all just need the players to recognise that.

They play with the same endeavour and determination for 4 quarters that they display for some periods and the coaches select and set strategies for specific opponents. What could be easier?

Who said 6???

I for one did.  it's classically 50/50 atm.  Very easy to mount a case to say we might win 7/8 I understand however the season is THAT even that games against the Bullies, Weagles, Port, Swannies  arent a gift.  Carlton are starting to play a decent game..dont ink that in straight away..Should win....but there's lots of games we SHOULD win  I expect to beat the Aints...again :)  danger game...Pies last round..we'll be playing for a decent spot in finals perhaps..they will wont us as a scalp seeing they WONT make finals.

Just so hard to put a finger on it.

Going by recent form and the way we deal with expectation against better sides, we might end up winning another 7.

Or we could crumble.

Next 3 weeks are ENORMOUS. If we can't win at least 1 there's no chance we are a finals team

At the start of the season I pencilled in the next month as being a barometer of where we're at regardless of how many wins we're on at the time. 10-12 for mine.

who'd put there house on winning 8 ?   7?

I voted 7 - 9 because I didn't read the poll question correctly.

I think we will win 7 to 9 more games in a really st one finish to the year.

Please edit if possible.

In some years of past there might simply be a nod to Mfcss in not considering a healthy finish to a season. In many seasons there are distinct trends. Teams have played, won, lost according to the nap of the play, as it were. This year is just bizarre. Pick A ...bound to be B etc. Anyone and everyone is winning/losing against conventional opinion.

Tossing coins is proving as accurate a method as any.

Picking the run home ?  ... Where's the dartboard ?

We're already on 6 so by selecting 6 you're saying we won't win another game.

Just did the AFL.com ladder predictor (a flawed exercise I know).  Tried to be as realistic as possible

Had the Demons finishing 6th with 12 wins and 112%

It was a scary exercise though, as the 8 changes so much from week to week.  For example with three rounds left I had us in 11th position before winning the last three games.  Going into Round 22 with two games left,  Essendon, Collingwood and West Coast were all in my eight.

After the last game all three were out, replaced by Melbourne, Gold Coast and Richmond.

This is gonna be a scary run home, but awesome too. Just thank heavens were are in the hunt finally after a decade.

I think we have 4 games we should win and 4 more we are a good chance in so I went for 6 more wins.  that would see us have a bad patch coming up, being out of the 8 but then maybe sneaking in at the end.

Gawn and Hogan are the X factors that can get us more consistent and winning more

We can't afford a hiding in any of the remaining games as percentage is going to be so, so crucial this year.

Bub, I think the poll question is how many wins in total at the end of H&A 2016; not how many games between now and end of H&A.

I for one had to read it twice, then realised we couldn't get 16 wins from the last 11 games.

We need some of our players to have a purple patch as the finals approaches.

In our glory days I can recall the Feebey twins coming out of their shells and playing repeated blinders.

I will be looking to Salem, Hunt and Petracca to deliver that magic. There is some real potential upside in this team.

Darwin presents a real problem as a game on the road played in atrocious humidity. If we are doing well at that stage it will be interesting to see how we manage that game.

By the way I voted for 5-6 more wins so I really have no idea.

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
