Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

We're in week 3 of the first season of the May/Hogan trade and Jumbo has already called it a disastrous one.

#demonland

I'm with others in that May should most certainly have known better. And the evidence is that he is a player who is 28 years of age, is an ex-club captain at AFL level and has been in an elite training environment for how many years?

I find it funny that posters would believe the words he used in the 'media', a platform where truth is always bent.

It is crystal clear that he arrived at our club in a poor condition. That is a reflection of him, not the Gold Coast Suns. And I would also hedge my bets that his soft tissue injuries are a result of all of this.

Clearly annoying.

Means I have to deal with Oscar and Frost for a few more weeks. Yay.

It concerns me a little that whatever overtraining he immersed himself into to GET fit hasn't set him up for continuing soft tissue niggles.

GC players in the main seem quite fit I'd say .

With a family member who left another mediocre club (not Melbourne) to pursue a career at the GC, I can assure you my family member was amazed at the lack of expectation or training requirements after moving clubs between his last game and start of preseason at a new club.

GC did no testing beforehand and gave him no training schedule to follow in the offseason.

May and KK might be long term super trades because we actually have done our due diligence. Both are proven quality player (KK barely but he looked a real talent early in career) yet came through a poor system. Massive upside on quality, proven players.

Time will tell

If you believe half the stuff talked about with May joining us then it would seem it was less than an ideal start.

He is clearly injured and he will be out for some weeks. My experience at watching such things suggests to me that he will not be 100% till much later in the season if at all this year.

We know he can play and for me I don't think we will see the best from him till 2020,

Sad but that is the way of the world. A similar situation exists with Tmac he has clearly not recovered from his surgery over the break. IMO he will not be a 50+ goal kicking forward again  till 2020.

I will hold judgement on May. No doubt there is a bit of rascal in him but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Just hope I don’t end up having some sort of sympathy for Campbell Brown in the future.

He’s a very good field kick. I’ve always rated him as one but people tend to forget how composed he actually is. I hope everyone does now...

He makes us better!

Seems to be bringing out the adventurer spirit in Sam Frost, that's for sure.

Not pretending he's perfect, but it does feel comforting to know we have a strong tall defender who is pretty reliable for skill and composure with the ball. For us in the stands and for everyone within the club, I'd guess.

Natural leader.

Great post.

The team has a good kick now down there and the keys to a finals standard defence with lever and future 10 year player hore.

I see May as a walk up to leadership  group in 2020.

Fitting that he had the ball today at final siren time

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
