Ill fess i wasvone that thought his convalescence should take longer and he possibly best be served with time and a possible focus on the preseason etc.

Happy to be wrong.

The game proved just the Tonic :)

I never questioned his talent but I questioned his style of play many times.

As someone else mentioned, he attacked the ball and didn't just stand and wrestle like he has been for over a year now.

We also were able to isolate him. Pack marking he doesn't do.

If we are to do any damage in any finals series in the era of Hogan - it will be a forward line that gets him one-on-one more often than not.

Some Demon supporters have doubted this kids talent. LOL.

Must be on drugs.

Worse still: some Demonlanders wanted to trade him! ?

Hey DD

Just got back from two and half weeks riding in Italy, Austria, France and Switzerland. with the wife on the back. An absolute blast, particularly the Dolomites and Switzerland. There were a couple of close calls along the way with me trying to ride like an Italian, a quick thump on the back of the helmet by the hand brake and I would pull my head in. They tell me Italian hospitals are excellent so I'm sure you're in good hands.

No doubt his and the teams efforts to create space for Jessie was part of the story, but I get the feeling watching his marks/goals from the Lion's game that their backs played incredibly loose on him and I hardly recalled him being double teamed all day.  I also hardly remember a day where he has kicked so straight, not a numpty one off to the side all day (I was almost waiting for him to miss a sitter from 25 out).

Fully expect Dunn to scrag the heck out of Jessie and Howe to come third man up on him all day against the Pies.

Really do think Watts back into the side will complete our forward line, they can't hold all of our guns at once.

Article on Jesse's return today. I especially liked this bit, regarding the club's attitude towards everything he's gone through this year.

"Hogan said he would have found it difficult to pull through if not for the support of the Melbourne Football Club and his teammates.

"The club was extremely caring and were very cautious to what I needed – whether I needed space or whether I needed to be around the boys. They couldn't have done any better, in my opinion.""

Our back room staff should be the envy of the league. Has Josh Mahoney written all over it.

What a turnaround from the joke we were not so long ago.

If Dunne and Howe scagg him Pedo and Garlett will kick 4 each

And they dont have a match for a rampant Petracca

My heart goes out to Jesse.  His injury today was the 5th major setback this season.  He has carried such a personal burden.  He worked so hard to come back from the collarbone injury to play again and the hamstring goes.  It just isn't his year.  Chin up mate.  Look forward to you getting healthy for 2018.

Yep I am sure he will be glad to see the end of 2017.     An  gutsy  young man who will come back and have a big 2018

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
