Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Until he kicked it.

I like Wagner, he's an upgrade on Melksham but he butchered it a fair bit under little pressure.

Wagner is the doppelgänger fur Hunt.

I just had a look too, literally amazing. Posters talking about giving up after 20 years of supporting the club, saying that their season is done, their list is trash... and they're on top of the ladder!

What a pathetic bunch of 'supporters'.

You know the same would happen here if the roles were reversed, it's the nature of fan forums

Lets c how we perform this week against the Roos first.  One week at a time Macca cause we just never know what we r going to get.

I've seen enough DX ... we get a good run with injuries and we'll get to 13 wins.

Winning the way we did on Sat night is worth more than 1 win. The whole squad should be brimming with confidence now.  Collectively our midfield can perform at A class.

We might hit a wall for a short time but every team will experience that with the type of footy that is being played this season.

I agree Adam.  The critical thing for me was that we got things back on our terms mid-quarter.  When we've regained the initiative in earlier games, it has generally been at the breaks, when the coaches have re-set things for the next stanza.  To wrest the momentum back mid-quarter was a sign to me that our list and on-field leadership is learning and maturing.  Hope I'm right!

Completely agree, mate. It's a great sign.

I didn't realise how quick Clarry is!? Is there anything this 21 gamer can't do?? Eddie bets goals, running down quick opposition players, 30 touches every game, 80 plus % disposal efficiency

very big man crush forming.

He's leading The Age Player of the Year I believe. 6 votes ahead of Sloane.

Take the rest of the year off and have one last roll of the dice next season.

For every Steve Bradbury in sport, there are lots of deserving Brayshaws.

I can't recall Wagner hitting a target again the other night. I really rate him. He gets to great spots, provides a really nice outlet and is good 1v1. But his kicking needs to improve. I think he's just struggling to get the pace of games at times. Hopefully that improves against the Roos.

Wagner, Hunt, Frost and Hibberd. That is a seriously strong defensive unit that attacks and line breaks in a similar way to Adelaide's half backs.

This is why Frost is such a rare beast and if he can get his contested marking under control, he could be anything. There aren't many KPDs with his toe (none in fact), which enables him to take on the game like Rance. But unlike Rance, he actually takes the opposition's most dangerous tall as well.

Would you look at that? I just went on another Frost rant. ;)

I saw this on fox during the game too.

I firmly believe that we are a top four proposition on talent and consistency. We've been in every game in the ones that we have lost, we've come back from poor starts, and whilst we've had lapses that frustrates, the season is so so even, that we could miss the 8, we could comfortably be top 4 and even top 2 (as perverse at that sounds). God its good to be passionate again and not apathetic.

How did you get this picture to 10kb? I couldn't figure it out, but then maybe I'm a little technologically challenged.

I see where you're coming from, but top 4 teams find ways to win those close ones that we've let slip this year. Even with injuries. I think we're a top 8 team and will prove as much by the end of 2017.

For those that don't follow Titus O'Reiley

here's an extract from his  " The Monday Kneejerk Reaction"

enjoy:)

Adelaide (66) v Melbourne (107)

Clayton Oliver may be the greatest person who has ever lived. I’m a bit biased, but the idea of Melbourne having a real football star is something I thought would never happen again, like having someone love me.

While love remains elusive, a sure-handed clearance machine has arrived, and I am finally starting to believe that the Demons are heading somewhere that isn’t painful.

The Crows were meant to bounce back from a terrible outing in Tasmania and thump the Dees but instead struggled to handle opponents not letting them do whatever they want to do.

Rory Sloane was tagged by Bernie Vince, and Sloane’s teammates took one look at Vince’s aggression and said, ‘You’re on your own there Rory.’

Time and time again, the Crows players couldn’t handle the defensive pressure of the Demons. Neither could the umps, with Vince taking out one of them and the fill in going down with cramp.

It meant the game got down to two field umpires, instantly halving the number of umpiring mistakes.

Does this mean the Dees have finally clicked and the Crows are done? In this crazy season who knows? This season is drunk.

Current batting average is 50%  I predicted 13 wins this year which is still just possible and that will have us on the brink AF.

What makes you think there has been a substantial change after one game. I don't think you are but I could easily reply with "wishful" thinking. I prefer to think of myself as realistic. So far I have been close to the money.

2018 is finals time IMO but first I need to see us win 13 this year.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
