Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 8

In Bernie's interview he was asked about Jack Watts singing 'Sweet Caroline'.  He said the boys love singing that song, especially Jack.

The Hawks sang 'Horses' away from the cameras after special wins.  'Sweet Caroline' might be our equivalent.

Has anyone heard of the boys singing it before?

In case anyone needs reminding of it:

I suspect it is the chorus that seems so apt.

Certainly Jack knows what the dark times are like and why the 'good times never seemed so good'!

Glad to here the boys might have their own 'special song' a bit of extra bonding.

Fantastic result,  could only watch the reports on the feed,

As one other poster says   We fade out in many games last night as well in the second quarter,

But what a turn around,  Can anyone who was there or watrched put a finger on why the turnaround happened or what caused the change in play.

I am probably going next week so don't expect the same out put    We don't often win with me in attendance    Go Dees

Pressure pressure pressure! We turned up the heat in close and they absolutely cracked. Atkins is an example, looked free flowing and easy rebounding the ball... then when our pressure kicked into him gear he hear footsteps then started to kick it really quickly resulting in turn overs then he faded right away.

Sloane having no influence and our in ballers dominating at the contest meant we were able to break really well followed by work rate by the likes of Peds to hurt them on the scoreboard and lastly our defence just rebounded it so well.

As an overall I throughly recommend for anyone to go to Adelaide oval to watch a game, winning helps but watching it on the hill in front on the ferals was something I will not forget!

Seeing a few Dees blokes with there young boys there was so nice to see especially as we got that win.

Very proud to be a Dee today, had to pinch myself this morning!

One thing I loved more than anything were the moves by Goodwin. TMac helped turn the game up forward, did some great things other than kick 2 good goals. Trac in the middle was massive. Even Hannan in middle was a surprise, he didnt sent the world on fire but he did get involved. Bernie`s tag sensational and Jettas job on Betts, unbelievable. I can`t even do the votes, its too bloody hard. Oliver you are possibly the most exciting kid I can ever remember in my nearly half century years.

AND our leaders.....all of them stood up and dragged the kids along with them.

A spine tingling win!

I prefer the Elvis version with the big band .

Unfortunately Caroline is my sisters name .

My flag winning cricket team adopted"Dirty old Town" by the Pogues as our  unofficial anthem.

Btw does anyone think Josh Jenkins is an example of 'Built like Tarzan plays like Jane'. When i saw Oscar on him i was worried due to the bigger frame, yet Jenkins was bruise free today.

Absolute soft.

Coming off broken ribs he may be a bit tentative.

213 kicks to 207 handballs was a significant stat. Suggests we're using time and space better once we've created it.

Also as we bang on time and again, when you have forwards ahead you don't p.ss fart around with stupid sideways handball and nothing kicks.

We rotated Tom Mac, Weid, Pedo, Watts and Trac in the forward line, plus Hannan, Kent , Bugg and Jeffy, meaning there were players who could score  there and the ball came down quickly.

Can we send a humble pie to SEN for Garry's enjoyment.

With 'Not Mentally Brittle' iced on top.

Hope he has the good grace to pump the team's tyres, this week!!

Awesome win. One for the true believers!

Go Dees!

Garry will say fantastic win but see next week when Melbourne will probably be favourites and see if we can back it up. That has been said about melbourne. When we arent favourites the pressure is off and we see this football that we saw last night, but when its our turn as favourites we dont back it up. Last night was great but next week will be a massive let down if we dont bring next week what we did last night.

Just saw this from the NT news on twitter.

WHY IS EVERYONE SURPRISED MELBOURNE IS BETTER THAN ADELAIDE? HAVEN'T WE KNOWN THAT FOR DECADES? #AFLCrowsDees

Just watching the replay....was it a goal?

I reckon it hit the post

Idgaf anyway...

On the slow mo it looks like it took a funny deflection when the ball was near the post, I wondered the same.

His celebration makes me think it went through.

The Gaz Man needs to make a disclaimer about his own administrative/political record at the club before he starts hoeing into the current version.

You just know in your guts that he is pizzed that the club doesn't come grovelling to him cap in hand to 'solve' their problems.

I don't mind him having an opinion (as he is entitled to). I just wish he would be a bit more reflective of his own time there as a kingmaker before passing himself off as SEN's resident authority on the Demons.

I wouldn't say we played a bad quarter, the Crows have smashed every team this year in second quarters, so we actually held them off pretty well in that quarter.

Just watched replay. Until I did so, I hadn't realised how important was the Bugg goal in the second quarter. Until then we were getting smashed. A 10'goal or more loss was on the cards. Bugg's kick was not easy but he slotted it. At the next bounce our mids went in with a ferocity lacking the previous 15 minutes and almost immediately Jones goaled, and the game was turned on its head

That's another huge win without Hogan in the team.

First Geelong at Geelong, then Hawks at the G coming off 9 straight wins, now Crows in Adelaide.

I firmly believe that we are a better team with Hogan in the side, but clearly we should be doing things differently when he is. What should we do about this little conundrum?

Trade? ?

The MFC just invented a new way to play:

No ruck, no KPF, but heaps of courage and determination with a touch of magic thrown in...

The Weagles of the mid-90s did just that. It seemed like they picked 20 ruck rovers each week.

Game was umpired better once they only had two.

They lost confidence and their run on was stopped. Suddenly they had to revert to considering who deserved the free. They weren't making home town decisions with their normal free flowing slickness.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
