Train wreck.

Casey unwatchable today but thanks for posting the live stream.

And Gus Knocked his head again in the first minute.

A goal to Bayley Fritsch, Casey's second sees them 65 points down late in the third quarter. The other goalkicker is Jay Kennedy-Harris.

The Demons were down to 11 AFL listed players as Mitchell White isn't playing. Angus Brayshaw as mentioned was off with concussion from early in the game.

Casey are starting to remind me of Collingwood in the VFL from around 10 years ago.

They would top up the team from the local league.

I appreciate that the problem is mainly driven by injuries at the MFC level.

The concern is that it does not assist in the development of future KPP's at all if they are playing in teams that possibly lack structure.

Hopefully it improves.

The improvement will come when our injuries list reduces DJ it is that simple

Not exactly a positive day out for the seconds, but it's obvious that Harmes and Neal-Bullen are doing everything in their power to make a difference.  It certainly hurts when we lack the talls at VFL level and we lose some bigger bodies like Wagner, Melksham and Gus during the game.

Spoke to his Juniors coach a couple of weeks ago at the MYS. Lovely bloke. Bit of a character, so take of this what you will 'landers. He said he carried him off the pitch half a dozen times as a kid. So if you count just the ones he's gotten as an adult + what this guy says... I dunno. I'm not making massive calls... but boy it's different. Only other player I can think of that compares is Bell. Uncharted waters here, so I'll sit back and hope. But the sheer amount of knocks are heaping up in a way I haven't seen.

Sounds like a bad day for Casey with a big loss and Brayshaw concussion. Hope Brayshaw is ok and the players can pick themselves up for next week.

Thanks KC and all posters, sorry to hear that Gus took another hit today and that we were so poor, just to many on our injury list at present and most of them are still a way off playing, maybe Gus should play in a helmet until he gets himself 100% right. Go Casey Demons!!!

So many knee jerk reactions on here from amateur exports.

There is no way this is not a bad outcome.  Brayshaw off with head injury in the 1st 2 minutes!

Yep, have the rest of the year off young fella.

It's easy to say but AFL has been his dream and now that he's here it's not as simple as saying, "bad luck but think about the rest of your life". This is his life right now.

Poor Gus, I'm at a loss to think what we do next. Forgetting he's a high draft pick, he seems to be a magnet for head high contact. Can't imagine how his mum must feel.

I appreciate what your saying in terms of not over reacting to the news of another head knock, but it's not really a knee jerk reaction to suggest a young guy suffering a potential 4th concussion in less than 12 months might want to think about his long term future.

It is a pretty extraordinary situation.

Unless you're a doctor (and I assume a specialist in the field of brain anatomy), and unless you're privy to his medical records, I don't believe you're in a position to proffer ANY advice re his career.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
