I wouldn't bet on it.

Try 2 nights in the Nairobi Hilton for an unskilled white  Arts graduate to make assessments "on the ground"

Try reading "Lords of Poverty" and you will see how corrupt the charity industry is.

Sorry to wreck your feelings of altruistic generosity.

Thanks, Biffen.  Some perspective:

1.  I give through B1G1.com.  Every charitable project is audited and 100% of moneys make it to projects on the ground.  I agree that the 'industry' is rife with greed, skimming and corruption, so I am really clear about my giving activities.

2.  Been to more S-__Holes than most.  I know there is a frustration that nothing seems to happen.  I like projects that give a hand-up rather than a hand-out.  But who are we not to try?

3.  Your view doesn't ruin my feelings of altruistic generosity.  I give because I can, and I will, in ways that satisfy my benchmarks around this stuff, and I will not give up because the industry is rife with problems, or other people think differently to me.  All part of the fabric of life.

4.  The Dees won last night.  Go Dees!

I.e 50 to Dland if we lose. Some will see that as cynical and i feel magnanimous. Ill front 50 either way.

What of some of you. Who dare cough up 50 if a win...who if we lose ? Who else regardless ?

For a good cause no ?

Have we all paid up? :)

BUMP... (in the hope it works a second time)

Following on from the last time we towelled up these muppets, AFL 360 lead their Monday night programme with "Statement" with reference to our win in Adelaide. It was clear plaigarism of this thread but I don't think there was too many people who didn't sit up and take notice after this game. Even @Ethan Tremblay vowed to stop writing nasty letters to Goodwin.

A couple of months on and we're now only two games behind the Crows on the ladder so a win now is so crucial in that it will close the gap on another direct top 4 aspirant.

So, when we beat Adelaide this Saturday night, what are you going to do?

If we beat Adelaide this week I'm sure I'll be lying in a pool of my own drool as I'm sure I would have just lost my shite epically at the tv for 2 and a half hours.

The letter was the rocket they needed, you can all thank me when we make finals. And buy me a new membership.

If we beat them again this week, I'll get drunk on the company credit card as I watch the replay on the other side of the world. Bring it on!

I've done that before.

Claim customer entertainment expenses because of the size of the bar tab when it was just myself either celebrating or drowning my sorrows.

Almost forgive that carlton muppet on the boundary line.

NAh....I'll just enjoy the win and watch the replay 10 times like last time.

Add another recorded match to my already crowded Foxtel Planner, where it will reside for regular 'between seasons' viewing ...... and hope like hell it doesn't require deletion one of Mrs Deeoldfart's recorded movies.

Cocaine and hooker party...

Pretty much a normal Saturday night.

Nothing like having the Replay on whilst on the job

Stopping only for great pieces of play and Demon Goals

It sucks travelling on your own sometimes, might as well enjoy dinner with "someone" else.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
