Have a look at his first marking effort on the southern stand wing.  Not setting physical examples despite the 'leadership' mantra.

His kickout in the 3rd should have cost us a goal too.

Even when Geelong were coming in parts of the last, he gave Kelly a bit too much room.

We were a 13 goal better side tonight.  Their entries were small, slow and indirect.  You can applaud him on tonight.  A good footy mind wouldn't.

Won’t lie...as good as his second half was some of his efforts in the first half were questionable at best. Refused to put his body on the line.

Then I don't have a good footy mind. I didn't put him in my votes...but I thought about it. Yes, he made a few mistakes but he was more creative than I've ever seen him play before with his tap ons, punches as well as the more regular kicks and handballs.

What game were you watching?

He made countless defensive contests and managed to halve or better most of them

His best contribution to the mfc so far!

I thought he was fantastic and it is laughable the rigidity to which a certain poster sticks to his view - will actively allay and obsfucate any reality that doesn’t back his preconceived contrarianisms. Been doing for as long as the Internet has been up and running...

Footy minds know better ?

The game you were clearly not. I didn’t say he played badly, I said he refused to put his body on the line in the first half.

Best contribution to the MFC so far? Give me a spell.

BUT let’s not get into an argument...this is a good night!

I'm amongst his harshest critics. Still will be.

But he's certainly deserved his spot in the side the last 6 weeks or so.

Dropping his head under a high ball tonight was bad. As were a couple of tackling efforts, but by in large he did enough to break even in contests. Some better tap ons and things like that. Not as many panicked kicks or handballs. Helped control the tempo pretty well.

Wasn't happy that he couldn't call a mid or defender in to Hawkins' space at times but credit the Cats there as well.

He's more than holding his spot which is far better than when I thought he was actively harming our chances. A big test coming against the Hawks though because they'll try to drag him deep repeatedly and they'll big right in to him if he takes a backwards step. They know his weaknesses.

Another brilliant display from Lewy. So important for how we set up and use the footy. I don't remember him being beaten 1v1 at all tonight either.

I think his last month has been first class. Possibly his best month at Melbourne.

Some people like to big-note themselves. Go Lewis, Go Dees!

Lewis was very good last night. Won the 1v1s and controlled space. Outmarked only twice all night.  Two fumbles but most did on occasion.  One turnover but overall effective disposal.  Keep our minds focussed. Excellent pickup still imo.

Gee, how good was Jordy last night? Just a general down back. Took important marks and went back with the flight when it was his turn.

Played a good solid final

hopefully does the same next week.

Better than solid in my opinion SWYL.  From where I was sitting he appeared to expertly plug countless gaps, took some critical strong marks and generally marshalled the backline superbly

I had him in best 8, possibly best 6 in what was a superb team performance.

We are so lucky Alistair sent him our way.

Those that persisted in extremely negative posts on Lewis & Frost either have to apologise, change their identity to keep posting or just shut up.

That he did. I wasn’t knocking him at all, unlike others in this thread

Will be great to see him play against his old mates. It will be on!!

Not the first time I have pointed this out but he is doing his best to do what we thought Lever was going to do. You can’t replace your best players but when you are as good as Jordan Lewis you find ways to make it work. Great investment.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
