Bruise free football - from both sides. Pretty sad that these two teams were afforded the respect of a Trumpeter and the Last Post. Not much intensity out there.

I'm in Perth as you are and in peak hour traffic morning and night I pass a work ute painted red and blue with a logo in the rear window, just thought it may be you as there aren't a lot of us in Perth.

But they have SOS recruiting. They've got no hope. He's useless.

In fairness to SOS he brought over Marchbank Plowman Pickett from GWS who all look like will be quality players in the future.

His draft picks in Petrevski Seton, Curnow, Fisher, Weitering, Silvagni Williamson will also add depth and class to their side over the next couple of years. They still have alot of holes on their list but they have a good base to build on.

I have a serious hate for Carlscum more then anyone but i think their future does look bright... unfortunately

They're at least 5 years away from challenging. As soon as Murphy and Simpson retire and Gibbs nicks off to Adelaide, they will get pummelled regularly.

Curnow looks okay, but I wonder about his size for a KPF. Marchbank looks like he reads the play well. Pickett and Petrevski-Seton look nippy. Weitering is class, but is being played forward, because they're ordinary forward.

If they end up being another 3-5 years from even challenging for finals, Cripps will leave and then they're [censored].

I hope that happens. Hate Carlton with a passion.

exactly what we still lack

Grunt.

We don't lack grunt... I know you like complaining, mate, but we've got plenty of Wines' type. We need more diversity in our midfield makeup if anything.

Nah mate, not me. I also pass a few vehicles with MFC rego plates or membership stickers on the rear window.

I usually just apply the small MFC member sticker to the rear of my vehicle. The rest of the stickers that come in the membership pack I save up and strategically place on my mates cars and wait to see how long it takes them to notice. You might've spotted one of my Freo mates car. ?

He's a good player, having a great season. Limited decision maker, but tough around the contest.

We don't lack grunt. It was just an opportunity to imply we stuffed up the Wines v Toumpas draft again. Let it go.

No. We lack leadership. We have plenty of grunt.

Disagree, mate, but each to their own.

As for Carlton, they're playing a side as young as our blokes, but are nowhere. It shows the gulf between our list and Carlton's and we're not even challenging for the top 4. I'll say it again. Carlton are in big trouble.

They have no forwards. Malthouse cleared them out

I have just turned it on

OMG the inventors of tanking seem to be perfecting the art form

CFC may have been fooled by the success Bolton had with a list that maybe even Neeld could have had success with

To those who have had the courage to watch it all, are CFC that awful or are Port good, or third option, neither?

And they haven't built a midfield. Should have traded Gibbs last year and they should be blooding midfielders now around Murphy and Cripps.

It's more that he had trade value. What will they get for him this year now?

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
