Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

kent* missed two crucial goals

Kent played well in his first game and he wasn't alone in the missing goals department, always prefer him having a shot on the run though.

There were sometimes that they should have just thrown the ball on the boot sooner.

We played at a manic pace and it caught up in the 4th Q were still young but you can see what our game plan is and it will improve over the season.

Gawn going down did not help but it gave Watts a game he can be proud of , one or his best , i think Max was an angry man yesterday for some reason even before he had the little fun and games with Selwood ,he was making mistakes and giving away a few frees just out of being [censored] off it really affected his game, whatever it was and we couldn't get a goal and they couldn't miss !!! pulling them put their arse .

I was concerned about big Max before the injury, too.  Stupid free kicks, errors, misplaced aggression.  Whatever was going on, I thought he needed a spell and the coach to get in his ear.  We didn't need him to go down with injury, just calm down and focus on doing his bit.

Kent's 2 big weaknesses are that he goes missing and he is an average kick at goal...set shot & on the run.

For someone who is a good kick his goal kicking is very unreliable and he needs to fix it to be a better player.

Any time he marks the footy I pray to the football gods that he just runs around and plays on.  His kicking for goal on the run is terrific.

Let's consider the size of Hawkins Vs OMac . Hawkins has monstered most defenders in recent years so be a bit fair on a developing player.

Oscar & Tom had the most 1%ers indicating that spoiling is one of his main functions at this time. Three years ago people were saying the same about TMac. By the time we get into the window of opportunity we will have 2 great defenders in the McDonalds plus a back up in Frost (who is no world beater at this point in time.)

JoeBoy, you lost me with, well, your entire analysis. We kicked ourselves out of the contest but there was no amount of great work that enabled us to have shots on goal. The review you've put forward is the type of review I used to read when we had been flogged by 80+ points. Give yourself several uppercuts.

Yeah in 3 years time maybe.

I think he may stop 3-4 goals a game but is probably costing us 4-5 maybe more..

I would say that Watts playing with Heart was an understatement. There were moments in the 2nd and 3rd where he showed that at his best,  he has the disposal and class of a matchwinner and superstar that is above most players in the competition. This coming off his last quarter last year that swung the momentum and won us the game.

Sounds as though there was a fair reason that Bernie wasn't on yesterday.

Had his foot stomped on early on and his toenail was completely ripped off. At one stage at the start of third quarter his sock was full of blood, and he's had a procedure to fix it.

I reckon it's all in his head, too, because he is a neat kick when he's on. Needs to work out how to calm himself down I reckon. Definitely a player I want to see get to the next level though, because all the components are clearly there.

I'd hate to argue with one of the positive statements, but that was definitely not Jones' career best game! Thought he was a little sloppier than usual and on a good day those 3 behinds would have been at least 2 goals. But yes, he was good as usual.

What hasn't been noticed by many was the work and time Geelong put into Oliver.

Make no mistake - Blicavs played a hard hard tag - a good choice as Clarrie couldnt get his arms up into the clear as Blicavs was so tall. Then he used his running capacity to run off him, and kicked a few.

Clarrie didnt have the tank to go with him and this was one match up we didnt fix the longer it went on. Cost us offensively and defensively and was a rare piece of good coaching by Scott.

Other than that - Geelong have no system. None. Their entire game revolves around selwood or dangerfield winning the clearance and tumble punting it to hawkins and hoping for the best. Some of their supporters were incredibly smug in the last and a few were complaining about the vocal dees fans.

Well, they managed to beat a team that beat themselves. I can't remember a team so reliant on so few players, it's absurd!

You've got a very short memory. It's only a few years since we relied entirely on Nathan Jones. We didn't win as many games as Geelong, though.

That was when we relied on Jones to help us keep the losing margin to a respectable 60-70 points.

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim
