Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Who kicked goals on Oscar today? How many goals was he directly responsible for with turnovers?

It's not about that, Frost is just a better footballer. I like having better players in the team.

No reason they can't be int he same team, I just would prefer only T. McDonald and Frost, especially against Geelong who don't have many tall forwards.

Depends on suspensions.

If none then Vince, Kent and Frost in for Brayshaw, ANB and Melksham.

Melksham was good imo. ANB, Hannan and Gus were quiet today. Harmes came into the game as it went on and was a big reason we ran over them in the last.

Oscar Mac : most 1 % ( but then he could take 14 contested marks, kick 6 goals and have 25 bounces and xome p[eople would criticise him if he missed a set shot from 80 m out

Angus : Opportunity did not come as much as last week

Melksham for Vince only because Vince is an auto.

Yeah I think Harmes can play the floating rebounder / zone defender role as well as Melksham but offered more zip and greater tackling pressure.

Hannan holds his spot due to repeat half forward effort and aerial ability, plus has a bit of toe about him too.

All changes will be dependent upon Hogan and Lewis MRP - I'm half expecting they'll get a week each.

Melksham hits targets. Will play all year if his form is as per the first two rounds.

Agree. Harmes doesn't have the ceiling of Melksham but overall he provides more grunt and spirit. Neither are great back flankers but give me the one who tackle and win the pill over the one who floats around.

Hannan's not going anywhere. Bit of a dirty day 2nd up but hardly a surprise the half forward's struggled on a day when the backs and mids moved the ball around in circles all day. Credit to the way Hannan, Braysh and ANB at least stopped Docherty and Simpson carving us up on the rebound. Hannan's first game was top shelf, if you didn't rate it as a very good game then you've got rocks in your head. A quiet effort in his 2nd game isn't a reason to drop him, especially given when the game was on the line he went out and did something about it, very good last quarter.

The combination of Lewis, Brayshaw and Salem gave us far better balance and quality around the stoppages than Dom - holding the ball/turnover Tyson. Don't get fooled by his stats. He blasted to no one repeatedly, is slow to defend at the stoppages and his field kicking is disgusting. He had a big last quarter but he needed to because he'd cost us about 5 goals by that time.

Oscar has had no goals kicked on him for 2 weeks in a row. He's going well- we would be stuffed without Tom.

Well yep today BOTH good, Next week however, is a very different proposition!

Nope. The team balance is better without him especially on the quick Etihad deck and his kicking was horrendous.

5 clangers to Harmes' 1.

0 contested possessions, 1 tackle. We can do far better than him. He's bruise free.

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
