Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I bought reserved seats on level 1 for $20 a pop, which is $5 cheaper than GA, via the link the club sent out a week or so ago (the email with a picture of Bernie). Great deal.

Can you confirm on the tickets that the price includes entry? Same seats are $50 otherwise.

suspect that price was for a home and away membership i.e. an upgrade

Trains iffy? It's right next to Southern Cross station where literally every train in the state runs through. Ticketing can be a pain but if your a member with away game rights or you just buy ahead of time it's a cinch. I can understand not being able to make every game (hell I don't) but to choose not to go based solely on Docklands as the venue is ridiculous as far as I'm concerned

Post of the year, decade, century. The stadium is on the fringe of the CBD, literally a 5 minute walk from Melbourne's second biggest train station for Pete's sake!

I was embarrassed and ashamed of our club when not even 9,000 supporters bothered to show up for the Melbourne V GWS game at Etihad in 2015.

That was ridiculous but to be fair it was a dead rubber on father's Day. Still you wouldn't expect a worse crowd than the under 18 nationals

Not sure I agree with your last line Dr.

I seldom go to the dome of death for that exact reason.

It is a venue that has a negative effect on decision making.

And just to rub salt into the wounds this week the surface will be crap.

Are you serious, I have tickets to the game in the away members area level 1 and you reckon it's going to take an hour to get through the gate? I've printed off my tickets, so is that still an hour?

Looks like it's all sold out now

Dammit I loath that stadium. Was there last night for Adele. Thanks to the poor design it took 1 hour to walk from gate 7 to the train station. Total joke.

Bargain!

Thanks fellas! I got a reserved level 1 ticket for $15.

As it will get me into the ground, I will sit on the wing, level 3 where I like to watch.

Come on Lander's, for that price catch the train to Southern Cross and support the boys!

I assume so. I have the tickets. I'm a member but its not a home game so i can't scan my card on entry. But you don't need to be a member to get the tickets. I  didn't need to enter my membership bar-code to get the ticket as i died for the doggies JLT game (but the link came from an email out to dees members)

Must say it seems a bit light price wise binman

the link below is to the AFL seat pricing for this game and it shows the lowest price being general admission at $25

http://www.afl.com.au/tickets/seat-pricing-guide

perhaps email the club... I would hate for you to rock up and miss out or spend an hour in the queue and miss our 10 goal to nil match winning first quarter !!

I also purchased the $15 tickets & it gives your reserved seating so it will get you into the ground as normal. To others asking, it is no membership upgrade just a special "away team" area. $15 gets you a reserved seat level 1 near the goals, presumably next to the demon cheer squad

That area shows tickets at $51 but perhaps they sell some cheapies to surround the cheer squad thus acting as a buffer to opposing supporters... makes sense

PS I just did some more clicking and sure enough just behind the goals at one end there are seats at $18-$51. I see that when you click around on areas up on level 3 in the away section it is showing seats from $11.

Plus of course the most expensive printing fee ever of $8 !!!! (When is the ACCC going to have a go at these guys)

I think you're right, we will win and it will be a famous victory, one that will set us up for the rest of the year.  Mind you, if we've got a big contingent of Dees supporters there, it will make it that much more satisfying.

Thanks d_j but  I have the tickets and they have entry barcodes and allocated seat numbers (dead centre wing). So all good. Won't even have to queue. Straight in. And if I don't like my seats I'll go to where I normally sit in level 3.

It's a terrible stadium. Half our fanbase is made up of MCC members. Why should they fork out for a ticket to a home game at an away stadium? I think Melbourne members turning away from Etihad is completely justified. It is not our home ground.

I'm an MCC member and MFC member.

I hated that we played a home game at Etihad the last couple of years. We don't have one there this year though!

I'd rather play Geelong there, as we do this year than travel down to Kardinia

Be a real supporter, get there and help even up the numbers of a big Saints crowd. Especially with the $15 tickets.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
