Really sad for JKH, he'd had an excellent pre-season and this is just rotten luck for him.

Apparently Jack Viney went in for a scan too??

Viney had tape and a plastic guard over two fingers at the season launch the other night.

He said it was a flare-up of the earlier injury, but nothing to worry about. If he has had scans, I'd imagine it's just a precautionary thing.

JKH with a broken arm, out for four weeks.

vandenBerg with a foot injury, not sure how bad.

M Burgan has reported 6 to 8 weeks for JKH, poor kid!

I'd like to see Trengove tried as a half forward if fully fit. The guy is a great mark and a reliable set shot. With Vanders out great chance to see if he could play that role.

I'll call Garland a sneaky chance to get a high half forward role.

On his hand/finger he broke last year. All good is the word.

Must have hurt it when he was head-butting the Carlton player in the hand ...

Had a scan on his jaw too I believe, thought it may have been fractured after he was laughing for hours on end after Marc Murphy tried to fight him.

Extremely, extremely doubtful.  We have depth in positions now, and I can't for the life of me see them "trying" a bloke in a position that he hasn't been training all summer for, especially when we have other more suitable replacements ready to go that have been training there.

Watts for VDB

Tyson for JKH

bwattoth are upgrades.

Watts for VDB a good thing, I like VDB but not in the  expense of Watts.

Like others have said, there are injuries and there are injuries.

Not great for the players concerned, not great for depth, but barely a ripple on the best 22.

Hopefully Kent can play in at least one of the remaining two games (JLT or Casey) and mount a claim for round one.

Nervous anticipation upon seeing the thread title.

Relief upon reading the news.

Guilt upon feeling relief.

Finally arrive at sympathy for the player involved.

Been "on a journey" Nasher.

Your problem DD is you expect club web sites to be more than positive spin.

How does a broken arm effect your running capacity? hopefully he will be able to remain fit enough to start games straight away.

Hasn't had a good run and is out of contract this year.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
