Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I may have said it earlier, but I just think (other than the fact that they don't have a clue about footy) they just cannot believe that any human could possibly handball as quickly as does Ollie.

They believe it about Luke Dahlhaus for some reason... and he does throw.

I love Oliver. Always have during his junior days. When we drafted him I knew he was a gem. When he starts looking at kicking it more and hitting the scoreboard he'll be so dangerous.

He must have the peripheral vision of a bird of prey. Sees the best option without turning his head and lightning response. Totally aware what's happening around him all the time.

Great way to put it, ADC!

His awareness is something I can't remember seeing in someone with such little experience.

Still $67 for the Brownlow, equal with Viney.

The smart punters would have big dollars on it, knowing that it's highly likely those odds will drop significantly before the end of the year.  I don't think he will win the Brownlow, but that old "cash out" feature will make people a lot of money.  Similar to that of Gawn last year.

I just saw a highlights package on Facebook of Pendles game on the weekend. Now I can't stand the pies but I find myself man crushing on Pendles every time I watch him play.

The way he handballs in traffic is exactly the same as a Pendles. Both handball more than kick being extractors but both are great kicks of the pill when need be.

Hopefully he will reach the highs or go further than Scott which is about as good as praise as I can give.

Even though he buggered off to Shepp when he was young I'm still claiming him as a local Echuca lad.

luvya Clarry you magnificent looking bastard xo

If the umps keep pinging him unjustly for throwing they are just as likely to ignore voting for him. Sad.

Just a point birds of prey don't have great peripheral vision they have great focused stereo vision in front of them the prey has the peripheral vision to look out for birds or prey.

Still I would call Clarry a predator the way he hunts the ball and does seem to have great awareness as well

OK, how about like a giant willy wagtail flittering around the legs of cattle and catching the bugs disturbed from the grass as they lumber along?

Article in yesterday's Hun by Edmund/Gardiner headlining Selwood as the league leader in second half disposals. The others in his top 10 were mostly the usual seasoned suspects for hard running: Fyfe, Ablett, Shuey, Gaff.

But talk about "burying the lead" in the story. Number 2 was the now 19-gamer Clayton Oliver, and by my reckoning (with my rusty maths skills) after a 19 disposal 2nd half yesterday he has now gone past Selwood with his 8 disposals to be on top of the list.

Astounding performance.

I googled this claim by ADC at the time believing the same point you make only to find, yes Raptors do have extraordinary binocular vision and they see detail we will never see but eagles and Hawks also have 320 degree peripheral vision compared to our 180 degrees.

So Fact Check in this case says the claim is basically true!

So are you starting a rumour that Clarry will be traded to WCE or Hawthorn?

That handball to set up Tom Mc''s goal. Just mesmerising ?

Agree 100%. I think the thing about that handball was the we mortals had a real clear view of the chaos. One moment he's in the pack, then Viney busts through and gives it to Clarry - who has seen TMac and bullets the handpass. I've looked at it dozens of times, I know the ending, but I still can believe he found TMac.

Joy.

Haven't seen this posted anywhere else but Jack Watts was on radio this morning about Oliver:

"He can do it all. I was with (ruckman Max) Gawny last night and he was sitting in the (coaches) box (on Sunday) and he was saying the coaches were having a little fight because Troy Chaplin our forwards coach wanted him (Oliver) to stay up forward and Ben Matthews (midfield coach) wanted him back in the midfield. He is a super player and I think the coach probably put it on him a little bit last year to really become that full-time professional footballer and he's really taken to that and taken his game to a whole new level."

Nice.

It's telling that the bomber fans on big footy and bomberblitz have said hardly anything about Oliver after Sunday's match. Not that we care what they think but I would say it is dawning on even the thickest Essendon fan that Oliver will be a one in a generation star.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
